3/2/26 around 1230pm -So now we are at a new Airbnb in Jupiter, and I have never been in this area of Florida before. It has a Cape Cod / Newport feeling — calm, elegant, and organized, like even the palm trees have good manners.
My husband left for a meeting in West Palm Beach, and it was just me and the doggie.
After searching for a Cuban or Colombian place nearby, the only one that appeared was One Way Café. I read the menu and immediately saw the confirmation for my hungry soul: café con leche, ham croquettes, and tostadas.
“Ask and it will be given to you” (Matthew 7:7)
I ordered a Lyft. The driver told me about a great Dominican restaurant 30 minutes away, but that will be for another day because I cannot stay too long away from my dog. My doggie runs my schedule; I just cooperate.
When I arrived, I loved the colors — very beachy, very happy. There were a few tables in the center and a bar with high chairs. I looked around and thought this place could fill up at any moment, so I sat at the bar like a professional lunch customer.
I was attended quickly — no waiting. That alone deserves five stars and a Psalm.I ordered the Monday Morning breakfast with rice and scrambled eggs with vegetables, plus my tostadas and ham croquettes — four of them, thank you, Jesus.

While I was eating, I read the menu and saw there was a short story about the place. Right next to where I was sitting there was a picture that said:
“In loving memory of Billy.”
I studied the photo and realized I was having lunch next to the original owner — well, his picture. And I started thinking how the world works. Twenty-two years ago he bought this café without knowing that one day it would rescue a woman in Jupiter who urgently needed café con leche.
“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps” (Proverbs 16:9).

Then I started talking to Mr. Pete, a man with the brightest blue eyes. Looking at his eyes was like looking at the ocean — not just any ocean, but the turquoise one I saw in Greece 29 years ago.
I spoke to him in Spanish, and his girlfriend Crystal came to the rescue because he does not speak Spanish. Whenever I am in Florida I like to speak my native language. At home I am the only one who speaks Spanish — I even speak Spanish to my dog just to feel I have Spanish-speaking roomate.
I tried to read my book online, but it did not load, so I read the news for a few minutes and then said, “Lord, I need activity,” and God provided — Pete kept me entertained.
He told me how he got the place, about his family in Massachusetts, and of course told me about his soul mate Crystal. And let me say the truth: she is the light of the café — beautiful, friendly, and full of joy.
“A gracious woman gains respect” (Proverbs 11:16).

I watched Pete cook in the meanwhile I kept ordering coffee at the bar like people order cocktails. I do not drink alcohol, so this is my version of nightlife — espresso with foam at lunch time.
Then, while I was sitting there, one song caught my attention. I had heard it many times before, but I could not remember the name or the band. Pete started searching for it, he knew it was the Beatles and , ChatGPT helped, and together we found the answer.
As I sat there eating, the music played and for a moment it felt like I had gone back in time and how some lyrics of that song fit the moment I was in :
“There are places I remember…”
And I said to myself — I will definitely remember this place, One Way Café.
“I will remember the works of the Lord” (Psalm 77:11).
Then came the line:
“All these places had their moments, some are dead and some are living…”
Even though Mr. Billy is no longer on this earth, his friend Pete is doing a beautiful job honoring his memory through this café.
“The memory of the righteous is a blessing” (Proverbs 10:7).
The place is alive — full of food, music, conversations, and new visitors like me who walk in without knowing we are stepping into someone else’s legacy.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). I totally and unequivocally recommend this place!!

You’d be hard “pressed” to find a better Cuban sandwich. Their roasted pork, other ingredients are so fresh. Bun perfectly toasted and pressed. I also love their black beans. Bursting with flavor. New owners really take pride in all involved. Can’t wait to try some of their other dishes.

The food was super fresh and delicious, everything came out hot and perfectly cooked. The coffee was great too.

The staff were friendly and quick, and the vibe was really cozy — perfect for a relaxed morning. Prices were fair and portions were generous. Definitely one of my new favorite breakfast spots. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

A must for breakfast or lunch when in the Juno Beach area. Food is tasty and presented excellently. Crystal makes sure your food is delivered promptly and the owner is always present to guarantee that it is prepared properly. I traveled from Phoenix to get a Cubano sandwich and was not disappointed. My wife enjoyed the chicken coop and the shredder was excellent. I can’t wait to return. Don’t pass this place up.

Great service, food made with love and it was all so so tasty! We are glad we went to this hole in the wall instead of a chain restaurant. The owners seemed to know all the locals who came in by name too!

We got Cuban sandwiches, the Chef Rodrigo salad, empanadas and cafe con leches. So yummy!
