The esthetic could use some lightening up. Other than that, NO COMPLAINTS! Very friendly people, good price, has all the essential qualities of a truck stop restaurant. Most importantly, the Philly might be the best I have EVER HAD! I work at the hospital down the road, and I will be ordering on my lunch.

Don’t be fooled by the exterior or your first impressions. The staff and other customers made us feel welcome and right at home.
My wife has the cheeseburger box and I had the Herman melt (turkey burger, cheese, caramelized onions, and thousand Island dressing). Neither of us were disappointed. We were both incredibly pleased with our selections. The sandwiches were excellent and served with plenty of hand cut, fresh made french fries.
Overall, we would recommend Bigg Redd’s to anyone passing through Augusta. The restaurant is right off of the exit on I-20.

Lunch 5/20/25: please don’t be distracted by the looks of the building; the food is wonderful southern cooking! I had the working man’s lunch special with hamburger steak over rice with gravy, beans, and collard greens (excellent flavor, not salty). SO had the hot dog box ( two hot dogs, with chili, ketchup, mustard and onion) excellent/ you could taste all of the ingredients… along with fresh hand cut fries (a bit salty). The staff are very friendly-excellent service. We eat at local restaurants when we can and this was a great find!

At 1st glanced from the outside I wasn’t impressed idk so we left. Something told me to go back and give them a try and I’m glad I did. We was greeted upon entering the vibes was good loved the music selection they had playing…..I guess it was the owner and the cook was very friendly and made sure they kept us informed on our order they showed us prior to paying. And the food was good. We got the chicken Philly & Fries which everything is made to order and the lunch special of fried chicken beans & rice and cabbage. Very well seasoned and tasty will be back again.

The fried chicken legs are seasoned just right. Not to much and not too little. Collards and macaroni and cheese is really good. To me the hamburger has the perfect thickness. It is more meat than bread. Juicy and perfec8t light seasoning. The fries are real potatoes and not fried to hard or soft but just right. Remember, this is my opinion only!!

Absolutely FANTASTIC! We were looking for a local lunch place. Happened to find Big Redd’s Diner- most delicious meal we have had since we left Texas! The food, menu, price- all reasonable. However- the atmosphere was terrific. We sat at the counter and visited the guys while they cooked. Friendly and funny do not come close to describing them! ❤️ Definitely would love to come again!

This place is awesome! Super skilled cooks with amazing service. The music was filling the air giving a great ambiance. I got a cheeseburger with fries and it put me back in my childhood for when my dad would make burgers on the grill at home. Thing was loaded with toppings too and they gave plenty of fries. Everyone that entered was welcomed and spoken too. A place of this atmosphere is rare and is a true gem in todays boring restaurants with NPC characters.

These guys know how to cook! Genuine people that take pride in the food they serve. I had the cheeseburger box, it was made to perfection, from the oversized patty, to the perfectly ripe tomatoes on top, it was the best burger I’ve had in a long time. The fries are hand cut and served piping hot. I will eat here anytime I’m in the area.
