Exactly what you would expect from an old saloon! You can tell the people that work there have been there for a while, and the waiter gave me some good tips on what to visit! I got the patty melt— it was hot and very good!

We drive 5 hours to celebrate my husband birthday. We were told to find a table and someone would be with us. We found a table in plain sight of two waitresses/bartenders. Whom made shifty eye contact with us for 15 minutes before my husband went up to the bar to get help. It was no use, he was still invisible. We stood up, walked all the way back through the bar and left with out any acknowledgment. Very disappointed.
Go to Trudy’s Kitchen!

Will forever hold this place in my heart. My husband and I got engaged here. The owner was really sweet and sectioned off part of the restaraunt so it could be a more intimate. The owner is very down to earth and the workers here make you feel like family. This truly is an idaho staple and we look forward to going to this place every time we are in idaho city. Also thank you to the owner for that core memory that will last for both of our lives together

Food and service was so so. Didn’t feel welcomed. The best thing was the history on the walls. Hamburger was like it was Reheated and not fresh off the grill. Wife’s dinner roast beef open face was super salty. Difinintly needs improvement on the kitchen side and also work on friendly service. It’s sad because of the history of the building. Will not return.

We loved this spot! Drove up to Idaho city to see the snow and stopped by for lunch. Food and drinks were great. Wood cabin vibe. The manager Mama T took our daughter around to do a scavenger hunt! This will be our new favorite place to stop when we are in the area.

Super friendly, attentive and on point! Stopped in on a whim while out exploring and so glad I did. The experience was absolutely wonderful! Old west ambiance with historical photos and items adorned the establishment from floor to ceiling. I was told the establishment had been there for 50-something years and now I know why! The servers and bartenders attention to detail, friendliness and just overall welcoming vibe is refreshing to say the least. The kitchen knows their way around the grill as well. I enjoyed one of the best burgers I’ve had…ever. Not over cooked and robust with flavor and let’s not forget to mention the hand-cut home fries. They are to die for! I also enjoyed a porter that was outstanding! Thanks for going above and beyond, making this southern gal feel welcome and at home from go! You guys ROCK! We will most definitely be back!

We stopped in after a pleasant drive up from Meridian with visiting relatives from Texas. This is a great place for a “taste” of old Idaho. The decor , plank floors, old pictures, etc. are so perfect for a visit to Idaho City. The service was extremely friendly and the food was great. We highly recommend a visit here if you are in Idaho City – great old time city!

Great little local place to stop for a drink and bite to eat. We had homemade crab ragoons, they were the BEST I have ever eaten. Light and flakey outside, creamy delicious inside. Food is all homemade. Eclectic inside. Definitely worth it to stop in. Nice choices of local draft beer too.

Decided to make a quick stop for lunch while exploring Idaho City and ended up here. The food was good, but not the best. What was really cool was the history on every wall; historic currencies, newspapers, and such were everywhere. Definitely a cool place to stop.
