my favorite thing in the world is a leisure ride and finding a gem in the middle of no where. the K shack did not disappoint. every attention to detail from the service to the food was stellar. it’s what fast food should be. local, quality, diverse and absolutely delicious. also, the support for local artists is a bonus. you can shop for unique goods while waiting for your order. cash only for the shack. most vendors take venmo. what more could you ask for!

I mean, for a SHACK, this place serves Really Good Food! I’ve been there at least 5 times and was always sated and pleased. This picture shows butterbean spread and chicken finger sandwiches — but you can Sense the wholesomeness and quality. Not inexpensive, outdoor picnic table seating, stand to order and pay first, but worth it! 🙂

We asked a local who was on line “what’s good” and he said pretty much everything. He wasn’t wrong.
We ordered a “spiedie” (basically a chicken pita sandwich ) and a coffee shake along with a limeade. You sit where you want and they bring the food over to you when it’s ready. The shake was delicious and the sandwich was very flavorful.
A friendly orange cat came over to join us but I wasn’t interested in sharing our sandwich because it was too tasty. Sorry buddy!

This was a real gem to find on our trip back from VT. The staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The food is outstanding, the portions are excellent, and the price point is appropriate. In fact, one of us was not feeling great due to the heat and the woman at the register went out of her way to do what she could to ensure we were ok and made a nice recommendation on a food choice that fixed the problem. Great place to go if you’re in the area!

Amazing! Absolutely delicious. If you’re driving through make sure you keep your eyes open. If you blink you might miss it. It’s definitely worth the stop. Fresh and homemade don’t forget the fries you won’t regret it. Short ribs . Bread pudding OMG!!

Huge portions; loaded and creamy no-corn-starch-filler chowder; pulled pork to die for; crunchy handcut fries made in FRESH oil, and shakes so dreamy and thick. We turned around after seeing the sign for this place and I am so glad we did. Exceptionally friendly service started out our experience and now we are leaving some stuff to the brim with an absolutely delicious lunch. We split a pastrami reuben and it was fantastic, but somehow overshadowed by the even more amazing hand-cut parmesan truffle fries. Highly, highly recommend stopping here as you’re passing through. No restroom, but run up the street to the Stewart’s gas station and you’re fine.

This place is one of our favorite spots in upstate New York. Don’t be fooled by the humble appearances. Everything is local and homemade and you can eat everything from fresh, healthy food to classic comfort food. We had a caprese sandwich, chicken wings, sweet potato fries, a kale salad, grilled broccolini and two milkshakes. Every single thing was awesome. My wife, 2 year old son, and I loved it and stuck around after we were done eating to enjoy the sunset in their back patio garden. Plus, the people were super nice!

Local shop, local food, local coffee! The chef is amazing! The flavor combinations are excellent. This place is a true hidden gem. Sit outside or take out. You must go, you’ll be so happy you did.
