And we came back to have an incredibly delicious meal. This time, jack was our server and he was outstanding. We had the mussels appetizer. My wife enjoyed the grouper picatta and I loved the clam pasta dish, I added fresh shrimp. It was amazing
We started with warm bread & olive oil for dipping and then onto lightly battered calamari with chefs dipping sauce as an app. Both were delicious and only thing I’d change is as a sprinkle of sea salt to olive oil which will enhance it.
My husband Ed had the lasagna with fresh tomato sauce and tender meatballs in it & I had the pasta carbonara. Both dishes were delicious & such servings that we each brought half our meal home for lunch tomorrow.
We finished of by splitting chocolate mousse with whipped cream and berries for dessert.
We enjoyed the intimate romantic atmosphere, plush seating, and pretty decor. Every person we encountered were professional and personable. Until I saw other reviews, I cant say I noticed lack of music & it never felt awkward. Helps when you actually talk to the people your with instead of zoning out or burying yourself in your phone
I would agree with other reviews that a small salad would be nice to be included with entrees (a simple one perhaps of mixed greens, olives, heart of palm, and a sprinkle of parm shavings with a simple vinaigrette?). While no alcoholic drinks are currently available, the of course had water lol but also some perfectly made sweet tea and other non-alcoholic beverages.
We are looking forward to going back again
I’ll start with the music. It’s horrid. Hearing Gloria, yes the song from 1982- was bad, but imagine it being performed by a male artist in Italian! While trying to eat. I can’t name all the other 1970’s-1980’s Pop tunes screeching through the speakers, also in Italian. It gave the place the feel of a sleezy disco bar.
We, my husband and I, felt there was a little too long of a wait time from being seated, to ordering and receiving our food. We were there 1 hour 10 minutes. No appetizer. Friday evening in April, around 6:30 pm
I ordered Ravioli AL Quattro Formaggi in butter sauce ($17) and requested chicken ($6) as add on protein.
Husband- lasagna Della Nonna($19) he got water to drink.
Order came but not with the chicken. ☹ I immediately asked about the chicken. Waitress admitted to mistake and brought some out.
Ok. I did like my ravioli. The chicken, ugh, looked and tasted just like Purdue’s Short Cut carved chicken breast with Italian seasoning. I know because I buy it.
My husband did not like his lasagna. The noodles were chewy. The meatballs had no taste and the sauce tasted like Ragu. He had me taste to confirm. I did.
We ordered dessert, or tried. I asked for the very first dessert on menu and pointed at it because I could not pronounce it. Torta Dei Sogni ($9) A chocolate cake with Italian custard and coconut shavings. My mouth was watering for it. It was not meant to be. I was brought Tiramisu ☹ I hate tiramisu. I refused it. Reminded her of what I had ordered, ended up saying nevermind and requested our bill ($47 total)
Extremely disappointed. I saw at least 5 employees. There were approximately 15 people in the restaurant- 17 including us. 11 were there when we came in.
I really wanted it to be awesome.
