Celebrating Colorado’s craft beer culture, the Schoolyard Beer Garden is located at the historic Evans School with more than 5,000 square feet of outdoor garden area and open-air seating, as well as an inviting indoor area situated in what was originally the school’s builder room and engine room in 1904. The garden offers a thoughtful draft and bottled beer selection with a focus on Colorado and handcrafted brews. The Schoolyard Beer Garden also serves up your favorite casual fare with house-ground burgers, gourmet brats, chef-created salads, sandwiches, freshly-baked pretzels, and a fun variety of snacks and sides.

This place is seriously amazing — I can’t even explain how much I loved it. The vibe is chill, the people are super friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. I had a veggie burger (love that they’ve got options if you don’t eat meat), and it was so good. The beer selection is on point — sours, classics, whatever you’re into. The location is awesome, the service was top-notch, and the prices were honestly way better than I expected. Everything just hit right. Highly recommend checking this spot out — go now, grab some great food and beer, and enjoy life. You’ll love it.❤️

The food is only OK and expensive for what you get, but we love how this former elementary school and been preserved and repurposed.
My wife ordered a southwest salad and I had a burger with fries. The bill came to $38 dollars including a 20% service fee even though you order at a counter, pick up your own food, get your own drinks, napkins, etc, and bus your own tables. The “service” you pay 20% for is someone taking your order and putting it on the counter when it’s ready, like a Chipotle or McDonald’s.
If you go, take a couple of minutes to walk through the building. We really enjoyed seeing how it’s been repurposed while still preserving many features. It also has a huge outdoor seating space. This would be fun for a simple drink outside with friends in nice weather.
My wife enjoyed the salad though it was heavily overdressed. If we went again, we would likely ask for dressing on the side. My burger was fine, just not worth $23 with a $5 upgrade for fries instead of chips

A great spot! Spent the day in Denver with the family and grabbed lunch and drinks here. Visit the face for coffee, ice cream, pastries, and quick bites, or the beer garden for local beers and food. We got the Cuban, a burger, and green goddess salad. Highly recommend all. Everything was delicious. Just be aware that they do add a 20% service fee, so you don’t need to tip. We knew that going in, so it wasn’t a big deal to us. There is tons of seating inside and outside.

Our Mile High Daiquiris were delicious! I love the school house aesthetic and reuse of this building, a great change of pace for a dining experience. I got the Harissa Chicken and it was delicious but SUPER SPICY! I love a little kick and spice but It was hard to eat. I ended up having to ask for a side of tzatziki to calm down the spice and the bowl was perfect.

Been here twice since it opened and I’ll go back often. Love the concept and ability to keep an open tab easily. Great drink menu, a variety of beers on tap, and delicious food. We had the pretzel, cheese curds, fish and chips, and summer salad with salmon – and everything was cooked perfectly with affordable prices. Great neighborhood addition!

I have been to Schoolyard twice now. Once for a beer, brat and sweep potato fries (all good) and once to the cafe for curried chicken salad and a croissant (also good). I sat outside and inside, and both environments are enjoyable. Communal tables are available for the most part and a few smaller ones. Seems to be a good place to meet up with friends. Younger crowd generally. Lots of beer to pick from, and I liked the pilsner I selected.
I was really glad to see this beautiful building, a former school, restored and repurposed. I hope to return again and try their coffee or have an ice cream. This eatery is a nice addition to Denver.

We all loved our food (gyro sandwich, Santa Fe burger, and a chicken bowl) and a cider. Obviously amazing atmosphere but also great service. I am SHOOK by all these one stars. We ate at the beer garden but everyone was very helpful and we had a wonderful experience! There was a nice young lady who came and cleared our table and offered to get us to go packaging. I would recommend and come back! We parked a couple blocks away for free and walked.
