The atmosphere at this place was relaxing and inviting, very clean. The staff were very friendly and polite and professional. We went here for my birthday (they give free dessert on birthdays). We ordered fried catfish(yum, nice crispy and juicy), chicken fried chicken(tasty), kids chicken strips(with where so delicious, they were better than the chicken fried chicken), brussels sprats(tasty)and stripping, grits. They serve big portions. We will be back.

Stopped in for their Sip & Stroll & Halloween menu – such a treat! I had the risotto with chicken, butternut squash, and pumpkin…so good and full of cozy fall flavors. I’m a total sucker for anything pumpkin. Someone else at the table had the salmon and it was also perfectly cooked and fabulous presentation of the entrees.
Aysa served our table and was absolutely amazing, and Rachel the manager, was such a sweetheart. The whole team was wonderful, and the chef even stopped by our table to say hello — such a thoughtful touch (I loved that)! And the live music a lovely addition! Good food, good wine, and that small-town charm that makes this place so special. Can’t wait to come back!

I loved this restaurant!! My first time to come & the food was excellent. Try the truffle fries! They were delicious! Most everything was fantastic! The ribeye, pork chop, & fish, excellent choices!
(the lemon caper pasta is nothing special. Very plain very buttery)

Was very disappointed at the Uptown Cafe in Blanco today. One reason we went was because Celiac Disease forces me to be gluten free, and someone in a San Antonio GF group recommended this place. I was excited, because we live nearby. First off, not a big selection. Nothing marked on the menu, though the website said most food can be made GF. I told the waitress I had to be GF and my husband didn’t, but we wanted two gluten free meals, so we could share. When she told us the crab cakes appetizer were gluten free and could be made into a meal, my husband ordered them as his entree. I asked her to go back and verify the crab cake ingredients, because I had a hard time believing they were gluten free. She returned with our meals and set the plate in front of my husband telling him there’s gluten Ritz crackers in the cakes. Okay, so I guess we weren’t sharing. She should have asked if we wanted something else instead of bringing us gluten. Also, he only got two small cakes, an appetizer. When I told her, “I thought you said it could be turned into a meal,” she answered that some people eat the appetizer as a meal. It was a late lunch, and I was famished, so I ate my Cobb salad, though the menu said it came with egg and avocado, and it didn’t. It was okay in flavor. I only tasted oil in the vinegarrette dressing, no vinegar. Husband ate his cakes and part of my salad. We won’t be back. The staff was welcoming and the restaurant itself was beautiful with historic charm. I really wanted to like this place and was hoping for a new regular restaurant. That’s white cheese in the photo, not egg.

This was our first time there and the food was excellent and service on par with better restaurants in the area. Prices are a little bit on the high side but the food is good. Very cool interior decor and the story about the restaurant is equally cool. We will definitely return and try some of the other dishes

I ordered the grilled salmon and I got to choose my sides. I ordered the honey buttered carrots and sautéed spinach. Also we had to order the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer that fed all three of us, it’s always perfectly made. Everything was delicious with every flavor you can ask for. I always forget to go to this fabulous restaurant. Great prices, excellent service and venue with delicious meals. I live in Wimberley so it’s only about 30 minutes away. I want to go on Friday night so I can enjoy their prime rib again. I’m excited to go again soon!!! I promise you won’t be disappointed!

We were recently passing through Blanco and found Uptown Blanco Restaurant. We were so impressed with the atmosphere, not to mention the food was excellent! My husband had the salmon and I had the chicken fried chicken, along with Caesar Salads. All food was delicious! We were so impressed that we are planning on bringing a large group the next time we go. We highly recommend Uptown Blanco. You should go!!

What a gem in this small Texas town! Everything was enjoyable from the beautiful decor, cloth tablecloths, food and service. We visited during the town’s Lavender festival so the menu incorporated lavender in some of their menu offerings.
I had the Lavender Chicken Salad Sandwich served with kettle chips and a lavender lemonade…it was quite delicious!
I think the menu was specific for this weekend..

Susa was amazing today! She was friendly and very composed. She made me feel at home and her smile and appearance was beautiful. But… she told me that you didn’t have the 5 cents hot dog anymore

The BEST Chicken Fried Steak ( regular, not the upgrade choice) I’ve ever eaten…perfectly seasoned and crispy, along with the Mashed Potatoes and Sautéed Mushrooms. Others at our table of 3 had Baked Rigatoni alla Vodka, Shrimp and Grits….ALL good. The warm bread and butter on arrival was a treat, along with my glass of Saint Tryphon Albariño wine. The 3 of us split a very generous serving of a delicious Pumpkin Bread Pudding, perfect for Fall and not over whelming with pumpkin, just perfect! A beautiful restaurant and one of the nicest dining experience you can have…..because we could all talk and hear each other, unlike many places where the music makes it impossible to visit. Aysa, our server, was delightful and we highly recommend Uptown Blanco for a pleasurable evening with great food, service and ambiance. We will be back! And OH! I forgot to mention their Tartar Sauce is addicting…..I took an appetizer of Fried Oysters home to a family member, and I would buy the Tartar Sauce in a container if they sold it that way, had quite a “ zing” to it, not hot pepper, just VERY tasty. This chef really knows how to season !
