As for the food, both my friend and I ordered the pho with rare steak and summer rolls. The summer rolls were alright. The pho broth was a bit more oily than the other pho bowls I had, which was fine at first, aside from the fact that I couldn’t really taste the sweetness of the pho broth because of it, but my stomach felt quite sick afterwards from the oil.
Overall, it’s a pretty decent place to dine in.
This place is small place, stool seating, great atmosphere for a small group, single dining or take away orders. The food is excellent: fresh, healthy & tasty ingredients, dishes that hits the spot (especially during the colder months!) Portions are for at least 2-3 people – so this spot is gentle on your purse The staff is attentive & great at what they do in the kitchen
Whether you’re new to Vietnamese foods, no worries – the menu is bilingual & also staff can answer any questions.
Let me start by saying that this is not a fancy spot at all. You have to order at a counter, there’s limited seating, and I don’t even think they have a bathroom (although they do have a sink in the dining area for you to wash your hands, which I appreciated). I felt like I was walking into a grandma’s dining room — it felt special.
The menu was extensive, and they also had specials. Everything was beyond affordable AND delicious. $28 got us the most giant (beef) banh mi I’ve ever seen, and the biggest portion of drunken noodle. I had to take some home, and I have quite the appetite!
The banh mi was delicious. The bread was crunchy, and it was huge. You definitely get your money’s worth and then some! The veggie drunken noodles came with a heaping amount of tofu, but it lacked some flavor — still, a solid and delicious meal.
If you’re in Philly and looking for fresh, yummy, and CHEAP Asian food away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is your spot.
Service is amazing and friendly, you can tell they truly value each customer.
If you love adding spicy components to your pho, ask for a side of the house made chili oil, you’re welcome.
