I have been to all three Daigo locations (City Point, 4th Ave, and this one) and they all are great with their consistent level of preparation and quality fish. This one is nice because it is the most “sit down” of the three, most of the seats are at the bar! Ha! Just like the standing-only location at Dekalb Market Hall (in City Point), you get served one hand roll at a time to ensure your rice is warm. I’ve only been here with as a party of three max so I don’t know for sure if you’d get one hand roll at a time if you can as a bigger party. Not pictured is the ebi handroll with a generous amount of raw baby sweet shrimp that is bursting with flavor. What I like about Daigos is that you can stop in for a delicious handrolls in a quick and casual setting.

A nice small traditional looking sushi bar.
Has a Humble atmosphere. Had 6 different cut rolls and they were good, I was expecting the quality to be higher.
The ingredients used were good and the chef accommodated for the Uni roll even though it wasn’t on the menu that day.
Overall it is a nice place to drop by and have a lovely evening to enjoy a conversation over good sushi.

Very understated, simple, small Japanese hand roll bar. Reminiscent of one of many small establishments you’d find in a stall-lined street in Japan. It can get packed very fast if you’re here at a busy time but if you’re here off-hours alone? It’s perfect. The hand rolls are everything you need and nothing you don’t. The simplicity of crispy nori and fresh fish is . It’s not a place that will fill you up unless you really break the bank. But it’s a good place to eat very high quality food on a sensible portion. Eat well. Live well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This place is a gem. Like seriously the best cut rolls and hand rolls I’ve ever had. Super fresh. Hand rolls nori are so crispy. Snow crab roll is delicious. My wife likes the spicy tuna and seaweed salad. Very good. Nice selection of saki. Don’t hesitate because it’s just rolls. It’s amazing. Service is so attentive. Chefs are friendly. I go 3 times per month minimum. Recommend to dine in.

Popped in for a quick bite and was very happy! Got the lunch special: 15$ for two rolls. They had an option for 3 rolls for 21$. With both you can pick edamame or soup. Service was soo quick! Food was delicious

Located just off of 4th Ave on Carroll St, this little sushi spot has proven to be one of the best in the neighborhood. Nothing “fancy” and over the top, this sushi let’s the fish shine versus typical places that cover with various sauces. When we first started going here, we had no idea it was the same restaurant as the one in Dekalb Market.
The prices are very affordable, for sushi standards, and well packaged in thoughtfully designed boxes to go if you don’t eat on site.
There’s at least a dozen, or more sushi restaurants around this area, however this has become our go to for consistent quality without trying to mask flavors with sauces.
There is indoor and outdoor seating as well and a very clean establishment. Eating on site, you don’t have to wait long as the sushi is prepared quickly by the master sushi chef.

6/18/24 – I always start at 5 stars and drop if needed

I availed their 3 roll + miso soup lunch deal during the heatwave of 2024 haha

I sat at the bar by the chef. Not sure if he was Japanese I asked “suatte iidesu ka” (may I sit) and he seemed a bit confused or in his zone.

Took a few minutes and the chef prompting the two servers to greet me – there were 2 guests outside and 4 inside at the time.

I wish they marked on the menu what wasn’t included in the lunch or what had add ONS but it was listed on the 8.5×11 that caught my attention on the door.

The rolls were warm, not hot, but like almost a baked roll but not quite. Which was a bit confusing (I grew up in Japan in elementary and Guam for 20 years)

Idk if fate so happened that the 3 I chose were warm rolls.

Miso was light; some might say bland.

Not that I am a sushi chef but these rolls were cut crooked and in varying sizes vs symmetrical like you would normally find “traditional” rolls

Not a deal breaker. Great deal. Decent meal

There was no music though which made the restaurant “feel weird” yanno.

There’s anothet Daigo right down the st as well so it seems to be a budding franchise possibly losing their special touch as they grow faster than they can keep up their 5 star standards.

I’d still go again – but the 2 cheese pizza + canned soda for $8 down the road might be a better bang for your buck.
