Cocina 53 has great music with even better food. The variety is just my style. You can definitely tell the put thought into every meal! I’ve tried something different every time I’ve came in and I have not one complaint! It’s always great talking to the staff. Manny and Ana always have a smile on their faces and willing to talk! I will keep coming back. Thank you.

Second time visiting Boilingbrook and why didn’t i find this place on my last trip. Boilingbrook you were holding out because OMG is this establishment great. Staff is very friendly and provide some of the best sauce for your nachos that I honestly have ever had. Im talking about freshly made food here to the point were they make there own tortillas which is what you want for authenticity of Mexican food. I had a Carne Asada and Chicken Gordita and came complete with a pepper on the side. Honestly beyond delicious plate and would get over, and over, and over again. Bonus for you fellow celiac folks….most of the menu is Gluten Free. Also…M-Th is $6 Margaritas which this guy will be coming back for later tonight. If you live in the area and havent checked this place out then shame on you. If you are traveling like me, then I suggest stopping here for a bite….you will not be disappointed.

Cocina 53 is a great place to come and relax and have a good time with the friends and family. I haven’t came across any rude or arrogant staff members so all of them have been generally honest and cool with me. The food that I’ve tried has been delicious, above average, and I always leave full and satisfied. I give this Cocina 53 five stars until I have an issue with anything. Mistakes happen and I always give the benefit of the doubt. Manuel or my man Manny is a great worker and an event better person to relax and talk too while waiting on food or drinks. Thanks Manny. Oh and Anna is cool too!

My brother and I are new to the area and are starting to get around to trying all the local spots. Heard great things about this place and so we stopped in on a Saturday morning and grabbed a breakfast burrito. Really cool atmosphere inside and friendly staff. Unfortunately the breakfast burrito we were served was filled with uncooked/still raw bacon and was completely unedible. Hoping it was just an off morning, but really disappointed that this cost $15 just to get served bacon that’s still oinking. Maybe next time we’ll try something else.

Fantastic place! Food is delicious. High quality meats and everything on point. Food seems elevated in all the right ways. Traditional Mexican food prepared with thought and quality ingredients. Service was perfect. Manny took great care of us. We’ve eaten here a few times now and look forward to our next meal at Cocina 53! You won’t be disappointed in this restaurant.

Now a days it’s hard to find a good Mexican restaurant with live music especially Mariachi. After surfing through instagram, I came across @cocina53_ ad & asked the Tóxico Panzón if we could try it out for my birthday weekend

All I can say is, I will not go back. The prices were too high for what we received. One of the servers kept passing behind me so close with food and drinks that I literally thought he was going to bump into me. The restaurant management really needs to look into doing a different setup.

From the beginning, it took almost 10 minutes to have a server come to take our orders or even offer water which by the way we never got.

The salsas had no flavor at all and the drinks era like agua frescas instead of a cocktail that I even asked, if they gave me a non-alcoholic drink.

The food was sort of ok with its bit of flavor. The homemade tortillas were good which I have to give it to them.

If you decide to go, DON’T order the queso fundido w/steak because parecía que les venden el queso. It didn’t have no cheese at all and it’s a robbery for what they charge.

Also, no vayan con tanta hambre because they take forever to even get your order started.

Overall, we will not go back as it was a HUGE disappointment but we will still continue our search for a good Mexican restaurant w/live mariachi because this was not it.

Note: Mariachi was ok and I will leave at that.

– El Tóxico Panzón: Carne Asada w/Camarones
– Me: “Queso Fundido” w/steak
