Leshan Beef: Authentic Sichuan Cuisine in San Jose
Reviews
The food was actually quite good and prices were reasonable. The brown rice could be softer. The dishes were not greasy, and the seasoning wasn’t overly strong although the sauce was a bit too salty. We avoided getting too much sauce on the chicken and it tasted fine. It seemed like a healthy meal for us. The ambiance is a bit lacking in 人氣。For a healthy meal, I would recommend this place.
The noodles was the highlight of the dinner. I would highly recommend it. It’s slightly hot where you can feel the heat but not much after that. They also have the numbing oil to pair with it.
The beef soup was very delicious. The beef slices in there are soft and tender. The broth itself taste very clean.
The dish I didn’t like was the pork belly over the mustard greens. The pork was very salty and was hard to eat. I wouldn’t recommend this.
I like this restaurant a lot. Would come back again.
Parking is easy and not hard to find!
Self order via kiosks and self collection removes the service aspect which is another bonus. Interior is modern and pleasing.
The set meal for 2 is a good deal. Only available in store and not via Doordash etc. Overall this place is doing things right. Keep it up!!
I’ve added this restaurant as my favorite list the Bay Area ☺️
I got the Braised Tofu and the Shanghai-style Braised Duck in Brown Sugar Sauce. Also tried some of my partner’s Honey Walnut Prawn and Beef Chow Mein! My favorite was DEFINITELY the braised tofu! Very flavorful gravy and custard-like tofu. Paired with the napa cabbage and wood ear mushrooms? DELICIOUS.
Overall, everything was flavored well and the portions were great. My only complaints? The beef in the chow mein wasn’t seasoned. Though the duck was flavored perfectly… it was strangely served cold, which I have never seen before. So I warmed it up when I got home. Just some minor details.
The interior of this place is what I really enjoyed! Very cute and modern interior. Board games and water bottles available for all customers. This is a great late-night hangout spot! I’ll definitely return here in the future.
The food is authentic and tasty; Chinese food of different regional cuisine. It’s good for take out and dine in. It’s self served from ordering to getting your own table and paper plates & chopsticks. All dishes are served in take out boxes; convenient if there are leftovers. Environment is very clean, comfortable and casual. Owners are very friendly.
Both times, there weren’t a lot of diners. The food is great and the cost is very reasonable so I guess many people just don’t know this gem
