Been here several times & just the other nite. Sad, but they no longer have pizza on Wednesdays (gonna miss that). So, we opted for the roasted chicken (1/4) meal with veggies. It was very good ! Had their local IPA & it also was good. The lady serving us was very attentive, polite, & accommodating. Atmosphere is nice, a very quiet place for conversation, & interesting decor. Overall I recommend a visit.

Off the beaten path but worth the unusual route to get there! It was cozy and warm inside in December. The ambiance is very eclectic and the staff is friendly and attentive. You order at the counter but they bring it to the table. It wasn’t too loud and the chairs all have cushions so it’s comfortable to stay a while. The German food was amazing and came out quickly, delivered directly by the cooks as soon as it’s ready. Prices are very good considering the top quality food. Great selection of German draft beer! I look forward to coming back to enjoy the biergarten this summer! Prost!

This was my first meal in Cincinnati, and it was absolutely perfect! The portions were generous and everything was delicious. It was a unique experience being able to try a variety of German dishes in one place.
The atmosphere is a cool blend of cozy, chic, and vintage + the early 2000s rock music playing in the background really set the vibe. Above all, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!

I took my family here for my son’s birthday and we all loved it! The super friendly, laid back vibe and fresh, hot, classic dishes gave us the feeling we were visiting a German friend’s home. We loved it! The strudel and beer were probably my favorite, but it’s nice to have a place to get good schnitzel.

Fantastic joint. Not pretending to be something it isn’t, just a good old fashioned Biergarten with top notch food and a great selection of beers and other alcohol. Live music was not overpowering, and was appropriate to the crowd. Definitely heading back on my next trip to Cincinnati.

Man I love this place! Food is great! Atmosphere is great! Service leaves something to be desired. The older woman working the register was very clearly drunk. And not just a little. Just all around seemed short staffed. But this is one of the places that is worth suffering a tad of a wait. Hope they are able to get the staffing figured out because this place has such a amazing German vide. Highly recommend checking this place out if the German food and beer scene is something your looking for!

Great find – unassuming location and incredibly friendly service- and the food was great. Jägerschnitzel is not breaded, but nice and thin and tender with a fantastic mushroom sauce and Knöpfle or Spätzle. Currywurst was excellent with homemade tomato/ketchup sauce and Curry powder. Fantastic beer selection.

Kantine is an excellent restaurant to experience authentic German cuisine. Peter, the owner, greets guests with cheerful warmth and genuine hospitality. The outdoor terrace is delightful, and the cozy indoor dining room makes you feel immediately at home.
Although it is just distant enough from downtown to give you a sense of escape from Cincinnati, the food and the owner’s atmosphere together offer a virtual ticket to Germany. Located in the Westside, inside a former industrial building now in transformation, Kantine combines authenticity with character, making it a truly memorable spot.

If you like German food, this is a must try! We have been here several times with fairly large groups which they can accommodate for either indoor or outdoor seating. You may wait a little for your food as they prepare it fresh but it’s so worth the wait! They have pizza on Wednesday which I haven’t tried but looks amazing. Thursday is half priced bottles of wine. We had a great time on Mother’s Day! Wish I had taken more food photos… it was all amazing!

Finally made it to Kantine. We live super close so it’s really shameful that it took us so long. Really can not give this place higher praise. I’ve not had a more traditional schnitzel in the US. The cheesy spaetzle was phenomenal
The staff absolutely welcoming and friendly. Can’t wait to make the next trip so we can work our way through the menu!
