Very friendly staff. Clean and food was great. The brunch burger looks like when they make fake food for photographing an ad..but it’s what you get! Over the banana pancakes and the caramel cold brew was perfect. Would come back!

Got a breakfast burrito door dashed and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was packaged nicely and was fresh. I have been craving the burrito for days now. The caramel oatmilk iced coffee was also very yummy! Will get again!

Came here first thing in the morning when they opened. Had just come back home from a long flight and was craving something that would help cure the jet lag. Service was great, our waiter was kind and answered any questions we had. I got the vegan breakfast burrito and was pleasantly surprised. Usually vegan cheese can be rough, but I enjoyed it. Plenty of flavor and great portions. We sat outside and despite being close to a busy road, it was a good time. I’d love to try this place again, perhaps for lunch and get one of their drinks too.

There’s a lot to like and love about Ryes and Shine. The atmosphere is 5 stars and contrasts greatly with the old Silver Swan exterior, which is fun. The hot sauce and condiment selection tops any in northeast Ohio. Hat tip for the range of locally made Not Yo Daddy’s hot sauces. Menu is unique and truly homemade and it comes through. You’re not going to get canned corned beef or sausage gravy here. Only downsides experienced are that the food was a little overcooked which seems consistent with other reviews – in our case, the chicken in the chicken skillet was overdone. Wouldn’t keep me from returning and shouldn’t dissuade you. Just ask. One thing I love about here is that they use many locally made products like Akron coffee roasters. Highly recommend.

Honestly, it wasn’t that good. Not in a mean way, but maybe they aren’t trying their best. My friend ordered an omlette and none of the raw ingredients were cooked except the sausage. The cheese wasn’t even melted inside. My eggs tasted like they accidentally got sugar on them.

It took about 15min for me to just get a coffee. At one point I was looking around wondering where our food is when other tables who came in after us already got theirs. The table and chairs were dirty too and the condiments, syrup bottle, and salt shaker needed wiped off. Just dried up butter and greasy gunk all over them.

I even got side checked by a worker passing by my chair and they didn’t say anything.

This is not the place to feel relaxed on a Sunday morning.

I am updating my review to four stars. I decided to give Ryes and Shine one more visit based on the positive reviews. My previous three visits were not very good. The “fried” sandwiches were expensive and were served without seeing a grill! And the drinks were sour and expensive.
Glad to report that this visit was a pleasant experience.
I ordered the corn beef skillet and my wife ordered the biscuits and gravy. She said the biscuits were fresh and she really enjoyed her meal. I did a skillet as a safe bet. It was very good. My wife had a bloody Mary and thankfully it was very tasty. I was concerned about previous visits.
The service was great and the owners really care about their business and it shows.
I will certainly return and try out the lunch menu. Hopefully I can update to five stars. But at this time I will go to four.

Regret all of the times i’ve driven past. Solid little spot. Our server was awesome and attentive. There’s something on the menu for everyone. The fried chicken skillet was good! It can easily feed two people. Will be trying the french toast next time because it looked amazing!

Our experience at Ryes n Shine today was unfortunate to say the least. We waited over an hour to receive our food due to some combination of a DoorDash order backing up the kitchen and perhaps the kitchen also being short staffed. We understood that it’s the holidays and maybe they were ill equipped for a rush, but we were left disappointed by how it was handled. Our waitress kept apologizing and after 45 minutes we received a quick apology from the manager as she went around and apologized briefly to a few tables – without any update on food timing. About 5 minutes before our food came out, we were brought a pastry and offered a latte refill on the house. After over an hour of waiting for food, our meals were good – but we were charged full price for everything except the extra latte and pastry that we didn’t ask for.

I share all of this in hopes that this location is better prepared for a holiday/weekend rush in the future and that, if they are missing the mark, that they focus more on recovery efforts. There was a full 30-45 minutes where no one in the restaurant had food, and no one was giving a timing update or offered a pastry or drink during the wait other than hot coffee or water refills. I don’t foresee my family returning here, which is unfortunate given how cute the location was and how good some of the other menu items sounded.

I’ve eaten at this restaurant in the past and the food is always delicious. I like to support local. But I must say that what I experienced today was horrible service. It was Sunday morning. I walked in and there are only 10 tables in the restaurant, most of the tables looked like they had already ordered and eaten. As I was waiting four other people walked in behind us to wait for seating. As the young hostess was getting ready to seat us, somebody came out out of the back, raised her hands up and said “ just so you know, the kitchen is backed up and you will wait at least 45 minutes for your food. She said I have a list of tickets this long and raised her arms. And said she had 100 orders back there waiting to be cooked and she was down a cook.” this made us feel not welcome at all like they did not want our business because they were overwhelmed. I expressed my frustrations with her statements and her response was “I can’t make them cook faster.” Wow what an unwelcome experience, we turned around and left. I get restaurants get short staffed and sometimes there is a delay in food, but the way that this was communicated was very poor. I won’t be back….
