Absolutely worth the hype! Fergburger was one of the best food experiences I had in Queenstown. The burger was huge, incredibly juicy, and full of flavor. You can really taste how fresh the ingredients are. Even with the long line, everything was very well organized and the wait moved quickly. The atmosphere around the place is lively and fun, making it part of the Queenstown experience. If you are visiting, you simply cannot miss it!

Finally tried this famous burger spot while in Queenstown (thanks to vouchers from our tour guide).
The queue was quite long and the place was very crowded. It would be great if the shop could expand to two storeys to create more seating space. We tried eating by the riverside, but quickly realized we had an audience — a group of very determined doves watching our burgers the entire time!
The burgers were massive in size. Not the best burger we’ve ever had, but still decent and satisfying. We also visited their gelato shop afterwards and the gelato was really good.
Overall, it’s still a fun experience to try one of the most famous food spots in Queenstown.

Went in December 2025. The queue is long. But the line is surprising moving fast. The burger tastes good. Worth of queuing and waiting after place order. Lucky we queue for the first day as the queue next day was crazily long. Don’t miss it if you travel to Queentown.

Ok finally trying Fergburger following the trend! We went during brunch time which the queue wasn’t as long as any other peak times.
There will always one of their staff member to keep an eye on the queue to make sure people can still walk past and all. If you ask the staff member how long is the queue do pay attention on their reply. Mostly they will say “…it is around X amount time until you get your food…”. Which means it include the queue to order your food, wait for your number to be called/displayed and eat your food. The queue is surprisingly flowing. Tips: if you happen to be able to make a call you can call and order ahead and skip the queue and go to the left window where is says “phone order pickup”. Then go to the harbour and eat with a much better view of Queenstown harbour!
Recommend squeeze in to visit them not during peak hours!
We had the Roast Pork Burger, Deluxe Burger and a normal burger with. They were all tasty.

I don’t usually like hamburgers, but I decided to try this famous restaurant in Queensland. I did good choice, I’m happy to have the experience here!!
The burger was very tasty and had a beefy taste. I only waited about twenty minutes in front of the shop.

I expected average and overrated burger, but Ferg proved me wrong. For 25NZD I’ve got one of the best tasting and biggest burgers I’ve ever had.
We ordered fries with aoili as well, and it was very good too.
Definitely recommend. They are very fast so don’t get discouraged by very long queue.

Fergburger definitely lives up to the hype. The line can be long, but it moves fast and is totally worth the wait.

Definitely worth a try! The burgers have amazing value for money. If the queue isn’t too long, I highly recommend giving it a go. For two girls, I’d suggest sharing one burger — the portion is quite generous. Cod father burger is amazing.

We were at bit cynical due to all the hype but it was well worth it especially after our long drive back from Milford Sound. The long line moved quickly and they are well organized and have friendly staff. A bit pricey but still highly recommended if you’re in need of a burger fix.

Hands down the best burgers we have ever eaten. The place is almost always packed and although they take orders by phone, we had to go to Fergburger to order. They have a great system, so even though the place is packed, things move fast. Once you’ve ordered and paid, there’s a big screen with order tracking numbers and they also have a website for tracking. It’s easy to find as it’s a QR code on your receipt. It means you can order and the walk around a bit while you wait. Definitely recommend a visit here.
