Miles above the local food hall, for quality not just price! Came in right at 11. Was greeted by the southern hospitality we all know and love. Got recommended the daily special of 2 piece flounder, two sides, hush puppies, and a sweet tea for 10 bucks….can’t beat it. I got it and it was a perfect way to start my day in Selma! Got a piece of fresh red velvet cake too!!! I will come back with my wife in the future!

First let me say my husband and I are truck drivers/expeditors. We have been to all 48 of the lower states. And hands down, this place has the best catfish I have ever tried. It was perfectly cooked~and seasoned. The Cole slaw is homemade and delicious. The patty melt was everything you could want in a burger, juicy and cheesy and oniony! Fast service, hot and fresh. The portion size is enormous. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff was friendly and personable. Definitely a must stop for us when we are close.

The food is fantastic! Service is quick and friendly. It is a small restaurant attached to a gas station, but don’t let the exterior deter you, the inside is a cute small diner with an outta this world burger. I got the Fry Daddy Burger my son had the fried shrimp plate and I will drive the 30 min from home to eat here again.

Heard great things about this location so we decided to try it for lunch.. All I can say is WOW.. this quaint spot knows how to take care of its customers. No long wait and the food is good. The customer service is great.. they have a daily $10 menu which you can’t go wrong with .. Food was so good, we went back a week later just to make sure it was the food and not just us being hungry.. The tables were study, and the bathrooms and floors were clean. Will definitely return

We were driving home to Maryland from Florida and stumbled upon this little gem! It’s not quite visible from I-95 but it is just off the freeway, conveniently next to a gas station. They’re attached, but there isn’t a pass through or anything like that. It feels likes it’s own cozy shabby chic spot for some good home cooking!
Their patio with plenty of outdoor seating is adorably decorated and is dog friendly as well. They have seating indoors at the counter for about 5-6ppl, 2 tables for 4ppl and 3 tables for 2ppl.
They have a good sized menu offering burgers, fried seafood, wings, dinner entrees, and homemade desserts. We did get a brownie and a chew cake, forgot to include in photos, both were nice and moist!
My hubby got the coastal platter while I got the wings. I do prefer the whole wings versus the wingettes since they’re much larger and tend to be more crunchy depending on the coating of course. This was also the first time I had corn wrapped in bacon. I wish I thought of that! Although tasty (it was topped with some garlic butter as well) I might rethink how to cook it so that the kernels won’t come out on the chewy side.
All-in-all, good food, SUPER friendly and informative staff, and clean restaurant. Would definitely be back along our I-95 travels as well as recommend to friends and family.

Great fish! The catfish was fantastic! Loved the shrimp and hush puppies. Hubby said it was the best Mac n cheese he’s had for 4200 miles on the road! And our waitress was first class friendly and helpful! And darling…….

I just came from having the best lunch in North Carolina, this place is amazing, the staff was professional and very friendly, you will not get treated like a number here. I was so full after eating only half my Flounder Plate with 2 sides. The place is immaculate inside, the patio is amazing, I was informed the lights come on in the evening so I’ll have to check in on that so I will be coming back more often. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you try FRY DADDYs Selma. Bravo Zulu

My experience there was great in terms of food. Service was very southern, the restaurant is based on inspiration of retro grease movie with hints of comfort southern living.
Upon arrival the place looks much smaller then expected. Also its next to a gas station which is a bit suspicious but that didn’t stop me as the decor stood out. Entering inside there are a couple of chairs and a small bar next to it. Once sitting the place seemed to be in its slowest hour as staff were talking to one another nonchalantly.
The menu looks like those homemade menus that could be printed DIY style. I ordered a Fry Daddy Special that includes hushpuppies and 3 choice of seafood with 2 sides. I got fried shrimp, catfish, and a crab cake I reckon. With the sides being mac and cheese and french fries. They use vegetable oil to cook this I asked beforehand.
They do fresh lemonade that tastes just like Chickfila. And on the table there are side condiments of ketchup, tarter, and cocktail sauces. There was also hot sauce on display.
The food was ready at the counter and our server later gave it to us. The food is good when you have a craving for southern fried seafood. The portions are well over for two people. Once finishing up I got the bill and paid, they accept apple pay and tap.
I believe I will come again when I get another craving but will order to go as the place is too small to sit and relax unless there is a sunny day to sit in their patio (yes they have a small patio).
