I went there on Saturday and had a terrible experience. The manager who sat us should not be working the front. He was not friendly at all. He thew menus down in a pile and walked away. The waitress we had was very sweet however the whiskey sour she made was pure lemon juice but she did remake it when I brought it to her attention. Was it better? No, but I went with it. My sister’s mango drink however was delicious. It took a very long time for our food to come out even though there was hardly anyone there. When it did my meal looked slopped on the plate. To make matters worse everything on there was terrible. The mashed sweet potato’s were inedible. Luckily my sister’s salmon bowl although dry was fine. After a $100 meal for 2 people with 2 drinks I ended up with food poisoning that night. To clarify I have been there once before and had that exact same meal 3 months ago and it was amazing. I’m not sure what’s changed but we will not be going back.

For me it was just ok. My son had the steak tacos thought they were pretty decent. My mom had the fish, it looked really good and she did enjoy it. I think for me, I had the quesadilla, I was expecting more. It was a lot of cheese, minimal on the other ingredients.

ordered this plus the soup of the day. The jambalaya tasted like it was just tomato sauce…. And when we told the server that particular dish wasnt for us and would like to send it back, she took it back. We apologized for disliking what we ordered (she didn’t apologize for us not liking it)…. And she took the plate back. When she came back to the table, she asked if we wanted the food to go even though they took it back…. Saying she couldnt have the entree removed the ticket….. which was pretty disappointing to hear. But even crazier to take the food away, and ask us if we wanted it back? Because i guess management wouldnt let the server remove the one dish of 4 things we ordered, plus drinks. I had high hopes for this place. I had never been in the many years since it opened in Sarnia, as I don’t normally go out to eat as I am a brokey. But we did slurge last year for a joint birthday celebration for my sister and I, as our birthdays are days apart.
I will say that the fish I ordered was quite tasty. I remember very much enjoying the fish. The poutine I got with it was nothing to write home about, although not horrible. Could have used more gravy and more cheese.
The service was ok. Not memorable for any good nor bad reasons. The atmosphere was quiet, not busy, since we went during the week in November, later at night. A big party did show up and use the “private room” you can rent, but it is literally made of glass, so everyone in the restaurant can clearly see your whole party, but not my concern, I guess.
It was clean and we were seated right away with no reservations. My dad and sister both ordered Caesar’s, saying how they heard that they are “special” from here. All it was, was a regular Caesar with an extremely wilted piece of celery in it. They were disappointed and said giving no celery would have been better, but they were big.
I also think the prices were about normal besides the alcoholic beverages. They were, as always, overpriced.

It’s been hit or miss with my past visits here. We were greeted and seated quickly and the lounge dining area was clean with a lively atmosphere. Server was friendly and service was good however, they could have checked in a little more to see if we needed anything. Food arrived in a decent time, was hot and presented well with generous portions. Burger was great as they usually are, salads fresh and crisp and the shrimp tortellini was delicious, although the pasta was a little overdone. Overall, one of the better experiences here.

Always a bad experience. The food is delicious. But the service is horrible, always very time-consuming, you spend long periods waiting and trying to get the attention of the servers to make your request. Anyway, I keep coming back just for the food.

We had 16 people in our group, celebrating a birthday and made a reservation well in advance. The food was average and senior menu very small portions. The service was good, but could have been exceptional if there was something done to recognize the birthday person. No singing or dessert. That was quite disappointing.

We went into Brownstones last night and unfortunately the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The service was poor — our appetizers arrived with no plates, our waters were forgotten, and we had to ask for several basic things that should be standard in any dine-in service. They also didn’t have any kids cups, which made things a bit more difficult.
The food quality was equally underwhelming. The only thing remotely decent were the chicken fingers. The nachos were flavourless, with a small amount of cheese clumped in the middle, and the beef was grey, bland, and overpowered by lukewarm red onion. I ordered the steak salad with no success, then tried the falafel dish, which ended up being a dry, flavourless falafel buried under goat cheese to mask the texture.
Overall, we were disappointed in both the meal and the service. It’s especially frustrating when we don’t get out often — we were hoping for a nice night out and left feeling let down.

Food was absolutely amazing. We went on New Year’s eve. It was a busy time- my boyfriend and I ordered the Bacon Burgers and they were amazing !! We had a server named Laura M. She was actually an amazing server. However; I noticed near the end of our meal, when it was time to pay we were kind of being rushed out the door. Again, the server was really nice. But when it came time to pay- my boyfriend paid card and then reached for his wallet to give her a $20 cash tip for the service & the food. As soon as he gave her the machine back she instantly turned around & walked away before he could even say anything or pull out his wallet to give her a tip. She didn’t even give a greeting goodbye. Again, amazing food and the server was great it was just the end- the interaction was very awkward.

I am totally not satisfied today’s takeout. Not worth $30 just 2 pieces of chicken. I thought it comes with at least rice. I am hungry after eating. It’s a good appetizer but not a main gush.
