Great food and service in this charming South Carolina town. I had the catfish nuggets with potato salad along with the broccoli salad. My wife had the Summer salad with chicken added. All the food was delicious with nice portions. I was too full for dessert. Our server Lori was friendly and helpful.

Staying in the area for a few days, looking for a breakfast/brunch location. Turns out breakfast is a bit hard to find in the area, but RE was open somewhat early. River’s Edge takes the humble burger and turns it into burger art. I’ve never seen such a precisely stacked creation come out of a kitchen—it looked like it had been engineered, not just cooked. The bun was perfectly domed, the lettuce laid flat without a single wilt, the tomato slice cut evenly, the pickle right in line, and the patty itself seared with a flawless crust. Everything was centered, layered, and balanced so well it felt like I was looking at a food magazine cover shot.
And still—the picture doesn’t do this burger justice. In person, it was even more impressive, almost too perfect to eat. But once I did, the flavor matched the looks: juicy beef with the right amount of char, crisp vegetables, and just the right touch of sauce.
I usually pride myself on building a neat burger at home, but this one from River’s Edge was on another level of precision. If you appreciate not only flavor but also the craft and care behind presentation, this burger is it!

I had the best waiter today her name was Sidney in cheraw Sc she was super nice with a big wide smile on her face and she was super kind. The even more surprising part was that she gave me a cookie for free!!

This place is racist. My mother attended a Christmas dinner with her coworkers on Thursday evening, December 11, 2025. They prepared everyone’s food and “forgot’ to fix hers! Yeah right!!! They gave her her food “to go” and when she got home her steak was not cooked. Very poor experience!!!! This was not an accident. There were several people in her party and she was the only one who didnt get her food along with everyone else. What a way to bring in the Holiday Season. Needless to say, she and others will not be going back to this place!

An absolutely terrible atmosphere, food, and experience—particularly for people of color. Everyone at our table was served except one person, who just happened to be Black. Sending her home with an uncooked meal made the disrespect impossible to ignore. The message was loud and clear. We will never return to this establishment.

I live across state line from this restraunt in North Carolina. Never knew this place existed… Now on the map, radar and a place everyone should make a stop!!! Ordered Smoked Pork Boston Butt, baked Sweet Potato and fried Okra. This meal was extreme mouth watering good!! Also ordered a basket of fried Green Tomatoes. If you never had it…. dont hesitate to order, its very tasty. Food was excellent, service was above and beyond great. Please pay this family a visit… Home cooked meals at its best!!!

I didn’t know a ribeye could taste so bad. Fortunately I had a dry stiff lemon bar for dessert to further bitter the experience. The brisket I tasted was well above average but I cannot get over how much I paid for that nasty of a steak.
