I’ve never been a fan of cold subs until recently. Tried dozens of places and today, I’ve found THE one.Mother’s Subs will blow any sub place out the water: Jersey Mike’s, Jimmy John’s, and all the other local places in Central PA. Not only does their subs taste amazing, but you get so much more quality and quantity which is usually rare to get both. Fresh ingredients, amazing service, and a lot of love. Do yourself a favor: Get a super Italian, if you like oil and vinegar, ask for extra with hot pepper relish. You will NOT regret.

What a lovely hole in the hood spot for sammiches. Got sandwiches to go during road trip and holy moly was that a mistake. So messy. Tasty, but very sloppy messy. And the crusty bread just made a total mess. Plus side, you won’t go hungry as even the “half” is a 20” sub…. Asking for pickles got me whole pickle wedges on the sub. Unwieldy.

This is probably the best sandwich I have ever had. I live in Brooklyn, so I know a good sandwich. Let me tell you that eating my super Italian sub was truly a life defining experience. The bread is perfect. Crusty on the outside and soft in the middle. All of the meat tastes so fresh and delicious. Also, you have to get the hot pepper relish. I am going back tomorrow for another.

After reading many of the glowing reviews I wanted to try out Mother’s Subs and see if it was the real deal.

The service was fine. The bread was good, and tasted fresh. The sub overall was ok. Wish they had spicy mustard. The sub could have used some more cheese. I also hardly tasted any oil and vinegar. I liked how the onions were sliced. The fries were pretty good.

I think for the area this is a step above other mom and pop sub shops, but compared to some other hoagie spots I’ve been to up and down the east coast it is pretty average.

GIGANTE 10″ or 20″ subs loaded with FRESH quality ingredients!! The “secret baker” buns are the BEST!! GREAT location in uptown/midtown. GOOD bang for the buck!! I also APPRECIATE a place where the owner makes rounds to ensure satisfaction!!

Great Subs and service! The place seemed a little ify, however customer service was great and the Italian sub was spot on.
If your on the fence about where to eat then go for it you will not regret the choice.

Good choice for sandwiches. They have real Italian bread and great ingredients. The accommodations are certainly better than their other Harrisburg location and now their menu includes hot sandwiches.

Friendly local spot. Good food for a good price. Would love an option for romaine lettuce but enjoyed the cheesesteak over lettuce!

Update: if it wasn’t 14 hours away I would have already had it twice. The super Italian still lingers in my mind with the hint of parmesan, or garlic, or something. My taste buds are still recovering, but they want more.

Original – Still eating it, and damn. Go here. I’ll try to be more descriptive when I get back to Illinois.
