This is Nashua’s best kept secret. Truly the hidden gem in this town. Authentic Southern BBQ. Eat bite reminds you if the SOUTH. The food is delicious. This is a MUST STOP. Besides the 5 star food, you get southern hospitality. The service is 5 stars. Truly amazing food with generous portions. Don’t leave without trying the Wings, ribs, pulled pork, smoked brisket or hand cut fries! Oh yeah and the peach cobbler is the best. Hands down.

The food was delicious. Check out the smoke ring on that brisket! Every bit of my plate was absolutely delicious. The bar is narrow, but opens in the back with numerous seating options available.
The staff were friendly and attentive to my dining needs. I do not know how the bathrooms looked as I didn’t use them.

Truly excellent local tavern with great bbq. I usually post photos of the food, but we dove in so quickly I didn’t have a chance.
The dawg pile appetizer is hand cut fries covered with pulled pork, creamy slaw, and their bbq sauce and could serve as an entree and good sampler of their best items. The three of us (all hungry) shared that and a two-meat meal with brisket and chicken, with beans and mac-n-cheese for sides. I’d say the only disappointment was the brisket, which was sliced too thin for our taste. More than enough food for us, but wished we saved room for their reportedly wonderful desserts.
In addition to the great meal, very reasonable prices, comfortable seating, and friendly service make this place more than worthy of a stop as you travel through northeastern Iowa. We will be back!

Awesome small BBQ joint. Food was authentic–brisket was tender and flavorful, sauces were tasty, and spicy, and not just a sugary slop. Best coleslaw I’ve ever had. And great service and atmosphere. Prices were fair. Definitely worth getting off the highway to get a bite here.

This place is absolutely phenomenal, some of the best barbecue in all of Iowa. Their homemade barbecue sauce is excellent. I highly recommend the hot one if you enjoy some heat. The pulled chicken and brisket are both awesome with or without sauce. Got the mac and cheese and coleslaw for my sides and they did not disappoint. Will definitely be coming back next time I’m in Nashua.

Shelby’s was great! We took our 3 daughters there for the first time. The food was phenomenal and plenty of it. Good price for the amount and quality of food. The service was excellent. Shelby brought our 3 girls a huge brownie sunday since it was their first time going there. He also brought my wife and I a delicious peach cobbler.
If you get a chance, stop in, you won’t be disappointed!!

Fantastic service and food. Staff was super nice. Just passing through on a road trip and not familiar with anything in this part of the state. Thought we were going to be stuck with Subway BUT found this on a search and it was still open thought we’d give it a try and glad we did. We both had the smoked 1/2 chicken and mixed the spicy and reg. sauce = fantastic!
