This is one of those hidden gems of hidden gems in Tuscaloosa! If you like burgers and enjoy the sports atmosphere this might be the best place in Tuscaloosa! I had the Loaded Fries, Regular Fries, and a Shocker Burger! (They’ll tell you it’s a little spicy… That’s a lie don’t believe them I’m part Indian have eaten spicy food my whole life to the lady who told me that… mmhmm.) Anywaysss it’s a GREAT PLACE!!! GO THERE!!

Best burger joint you could ever want! Keeping it simple! They don’t try to oversell or over hype what they do and what they do, they do flawlessly! It’s a top recommendation by students and parents at Bama for a reason and we love every damn bite!!! Music was phenomenal and I was trying to Shazam in between devouring insanely tasty fries! The burgers are the best I’ve ever had and the flavor choices with their freaking ridiculous and addicting sauce……… What?! Absolutely amazing!!!!

So good!!!! I got the When in Roam burger (extra patty) and the loaded fries. I can honestly say every bite of the fries was the perfect bite with all the toppings. The house sauce is TOP TIER, think mac sauce without the bs. The star was the burger, perfect smash burger, and the toppings dont overpower the burger. It will be very easy to be a regular here!

Had an overall good experience. The interior is eclectic and quirky, with dollar bills stapled throughout — definitely adds character, even if I’m still not entirely sure of the tradition behind it.
I sat at the bar and the service was a standout. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to refill drinks, which made the experience comfortable and welcoming. The fries were fresh, hot, and crispy — easily one of the highlights.
The burger was decent but didn’t quite hit the mark for me. It wasn’t a full smashburger, more somewhere in between, and leaned a bit overcooked. The bacon was also on the overdone side, which took away from the overall richness and juiciness I was hoping for.
That said, the atmosphere and service make this a solid spot, and I’d return — especially for drinks and fries. With a little more consistency on the burgers, this could easily be a five-star experience.

I’ve read some of the 1 star reviews and it’s possible that some people may have just had a bad experience, but my girlfriend and I have been here 3 times in the week that we’re visiting my sister in Tuscaloosa and this place is the BEST spot we have eaten at so far.

The service is awesome and really shows the care the staff has for the restaurant. The decorations are awesome. And the food… I mean seriously this place is the Michelin star of burger joints. The menu is creative and the taste is a genuine 10/10.

My girlfriend is obsessed with their “Cobra Kai” burger, and I’ve had both the Chitlet and the Greg Brady multiple times. The Chitlet was good, but the Cobra Kai and Greg Brady stole the show. An explosion of flavor.

After trying 15+ restaurants and burger joints in the college town area of Tuscaloosa, I can confidently say this place is the BEST!!

My girlfriend and I were even joking that the next time we want a burger, we’re going to drive to Tuscaloosa just to have a Jack Brown burger.

Quaint but vibrant joint with excellent burgers and a wide variety of beers, some hard liquor options and frozen margaritas. I hear the deep fried Oreo is unique!

Service was exceptional as the team provides a proactive follow up approach but not pushy. Service team is familiar with food and beverages.

While seating is limited, there are indoor and outdoor options and stools at the bar. TVs available for viewing.

It’s expensive for what’s included but still a good burger. Example of cost: the cheese sauce pic is what you get for $2.99. Atmosphere is fun and relaxed. Service good.

The high chairs for the high bar tables did not have working straps on them. Had to move outside to a low table in order to use a high chair with proper restraints. The burger was ok, kind of small for the price. The volume for the music on the outside patio was up very high (even for a bar) The service was quick and servers were friendly and constantly checked on us. Food came out quick. Probably a one time visit for me.

Ate here tonight for the first time. We liked the ambience and staff were friendly. If you want to eat here, all you can eat is different kinds of burgers or a grilled cheese. Those are your options.

The only reason I have them 4 stars is because they have no lettuce or tomato, it’s not an option. I asked why and the bartender told “because we think it takes away from the burger.” Well I feel the customer should make that decision, not the restaurant. They said they had cooked onions but I’m not sure about raw.

The burger was good and the fries were good, I just felt I was missing lettuce, tomato, and raw onion. We did like the place and can eat there again. Also, they only have fountain drinks and beer. We don’t drink beer so we had fountain drinks.

I visited Jack Brown’s for the first time ever on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

I ordered the Cobra Kai burger. It was topped with cream cheese, pickled jalapenos and jalapeno jelly. I must say it was the best burger I have ever eaten!! Don’t let the “jalapeno” scare you off. It is not mouth burning hot. JUST RIGHT!

I also ordered the loaded fries. 5-Stars all day long.

Get here ASAP!
