Weekend Kathiyawadi Thali Experience
We stopped by Bombay Sizzler over the weekend for a late lunch, specifically to try their special Kathiyawadi thali. A Kathiyawadi thali is a traditional, rustic, and spicy vegetarian meal from the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, characterized by its bold use of garlic, onion, and chili. Unlike milder, sweeter Gujarati cuisine, this thali features hearty staples like bajra (millet) rotla, ghee, jaggery, and sabzis such as eggplant (baingan bharta) and Sev Tamatar.
The restaurant wasn’t very busy, which worked in our favor when it came to service—the staff was attentive, warm, and genuinely eager to make our experience enjoyable.
The only trade-off with the quieter atmosphere was that the food wasn’t as piping hot as we would have liked. That said, the flavors were spot-on, and the meal itself was delicious and satisfying. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with great service and tasty food. We’d happily return.

Well, the food is good. We are a family of six and came to place a to-go order. We were new to this place and were visiting Irving. While many people recommended the food and said it was very good, our experience with customer service was disappointing.
The staff’s facial expressions made us feel like they did not want to serve us. While we were deciding what to order, she told us to hurry because she had other customers to deal with. We understand that everyone is busy, but we are customers too.
What made us feel worse was her attitude—it honestly felt like she was judging us, possibly because we are South Indian. A simple smile and a polite tone would have made a big difference.

We came here about 45 minute before close time, and they graciously sat us and took our orders. The vegetable samosas were great, and all of our entrees were delicious. We the chicken ticka masala and paneer burjhi.

Saw other people ordering sizzlers. Ordered the same.
Mix grill platter looked tempting but taste I would say just Ok. Tandoori chicken was dry. Seekh kabab was the best among those.
Bar keeper lady made really good drinks.
Can do better with tandoori items.

I WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS IF I COULD. The managers and the waitresses are so rude! They had half of the restaurant booked for some tournament. So it took a while to get the table which is understandable. The manager gave us a table on the reserved side as we had a baby. The waitress who came to take the order first advised us to order all the food together as it was busy so everything can be taken care of in the kitchen, but then we had someone who had special dietary restrictions and we forgot to include that in the order. The waitress was so rude as if it was a huge deal. We had to ask her to speak nicely to us. We had to call the manager over who agreed but said it will take time. Then it was SO LOUD, the other guests in the reserved side had a DJ who played so loud music and the guests were loud and screaming so we asked the waiter if we can move outside dining. So the manager was giving us so rude answers, saying we won’t provide service and that we can walk out if we want to and he can cancel the order. I mean i get it your busy cause a side is booked for some tournament guest but you need to ensure that your other customers and well taken care of and given good customer service too rather than giving rude answers as if your doing is a favor or giving to us for freee like what the hell, we came all the way from San Antonio to just walk out after a almost an hour of wait.

A friend of mine suggested we try this place while my husband and I were visiting from Georgia, and it did not disappoint. Since it was our first time there, we weren’t sure what to expect, but everything exceeded our expectations. The food was outstanding—full of flavor and clearly made with care. The overall experience was fantastic, and we’re so glad we gave it a try. We’ll definitely stop by again when we’re back in town!

I love the ambience at Bombay Sizzlers. The food tasted great, the aroma, and the presentation was quite appealing. I loved the noddles and the mixed grill. The lady who waited on us was attentive, warm and courteous. I loved my mocktail, mixed by Radicha… I loved the tangy taste, as well as the mint leaves blended into it. The brownie was exquisite… almost a decadent platter! The staff and the service offered was excellent and top notch. The restaurant was quite neat too. We hope to be back soon.

Schezwan fried rice, Hakka noodles and vegetable Manchurian. All tastes great, but the noodles were a bit dry.
Will definitely order again.
The ambiance is great and I worked like to visit when the live performances are going on.

Food was extremely spicy. Even when ordered as medium. Too much food coloring added. The lady taking our order was nice but the person who brought the food to the table was careless as her pinky was touching the curry

The sizzler looked great but was disappointing in terms of flavor. The paneer was not marinated and tasted quite bland. The highlight of the meal was the chutneys and fries served alongside the sizzler—they were flavorful and added a much-needed kick. The masala soda was also a hit. The staff was genuinely nice and polite, which made the experience more pleasant despite the food falling short.
