I can’t decide what was my favorite between the hummus, Brussel sprouts, ribeye, or tres leches dessert. I would come back for any one of those on any given night. This is one of the best meals I’ve had in the valley for a while. Seriously cannot recommend this place enough. The ambiance was great, cool music, chill, and great service.

If you love one on one service, This is the spot. At first the menu leads you to believe this a limited menu. Once the server started clearly expressing her knowledge, her service was perfect. It was like watching a rose blossom into al-la-cart service. Full bar. With a bartender that knowns his stuff. The entrance is hidden. I secretly hope this spot stays my hidden sanctuary for myself.

The menu is full of flavorful dishes that are beautifully presented, and the cocktails are some of the best in McAllen — fresh, unique, and perfectly balanced. Ugh, I never do this and management wont even respond to this review OR care, but omg I just had the worst experience at Toloa! First of all, the hostess sat us at a table where the ac was dripping ONTO the table. Um, ma’am that is a health hazard? She was really on one today because at 3 pm sharp they turned off the music and start picking up flower arrangements that were nicely left by the women’s chamber of commerce. Like ok were wrapping up and leaving but I guess not fast enough for you? The worst offense? No cilantro on my (greasy) barbacoa tacos! My bloody mary was watered down. The hostess was on a tear of some kind and wanted more than anything to be out of there by closing SHARP. Thats not how it works sweetie!

Had an amazing experience at Toloa! The chilaquiles with barbacoa were absolutely delicious—perfectly balanced flavors and cooked just right. Our servers, Diego and Freya, were attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout the entire experience. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Tolóa is easily one of my favorite spots in the city! The rooftop vibe is amazing – perfect for a relaxing evening with friends or a fun night out. The atmosphere is both chic and comfortable, with stunning views that make the whole experience even better.
The food is Absolutely delicious. I have to give a special shoutout to the lobster roll – it’s hands down my favorite. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared every time. The drink menu is just as impressive, with creative and refreshing cocktails that pair perfectly with the food.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or you’re a regular, Tolóa always delivers a great experience. Highly recommend!
