We stopped into Buckeye Chocolate Café in Bainbridge and were seriously impressed! This modern, chic café has it all — freshly made coffee creations, incredible house chocolates, and a full all-day breakfast and lunch menu that makes it hard to choose just one thing.
It’s also super convenient with a drive-thru, so whether you’re grabbing coffee on the go or settling in, you’re covered. Inside, there’s plenty of seating and a warm, inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for catching up with friends or getting a little work done.
Here’s what we tried:
Orange Creamsicle Matcha – a fun, refreshing seasonal drink that’s both creamy and bright.
Strawberry Matcha – sweet, smooth, and perfectly balanced.
Breakfast Burrito – hearty and satisfying with great flavor.
Arugula Lemon Avocado Toast – fresh, zesty, and beautifully presented.
Everything tasted amazing, the staff was friendly, and the vibe was just right. Whether you’re stopping by for coffee, brunch, or dessert, this spot is an absolute gem. We’ll definitely be back for the chocolates in the near future

First time here. They have chocolates and some pastries. We tried a pastry which was delicious, a chocolate covered pretzel, yummy! And got a couple of coffees which were good. We also got our son an Italian soda which was super good! I regretted getting myself a coffee after I tasted his soda! Yummy place.

Very spacious and clean place! We went late in the day and it was surprisingly empty for such a nice place. The service was very friendly and they were on top of cleaning very meticulously since there was nobody else there at the time.
My wife got a vanilla orange iced latte and I got a cardamom maple latte. My latte was very good and hers needed to be a little sweeter. They have a huge selection of chocolates and the music was very chill. This is a very good place to relax or get some work done. We were very glad we stopped by since it satisfied our coffee cravings.

I had the opportunity to visit this hidden gem a few times for breakfast. They have a great seasonal menu for beverages and food, in addition to a full regular menu with something for everyone. Allergy and dietary restrictions are handled with ease and GF bakery and meal options abound. I loved the harvest toast (seasonal menu) and the latte with oat milk and house made spiced honey syrup.

Seating inside can be a little awkward if you’re not at the big table with a group, but it works well enough.
Staff is always friendly, and the coffee is good- and creative! Loving the seasonal flavors.

The very strong smell of garlic permeated the entire place, even outside where I drove my car around the building to park. Billed as a chocolate and coffee place, one typically might expect the aroma of coffee and chocolate. The place serves some food like sandwiches, salads, hummus and pastries. When we asked about the piercing garlic smell, we were told they ‘make other food’ not just chocolate and pastries and coffee. But that didn’t explain the need for all the garlic! It was just so unappetizing because the garlic cooking was so strong, we felt like It was all over our clothes. While I was there for a meeting (we didn’t have time to go somewhere else) and we were there for about 45 minutes and had planned to leave shortly, we were a bit put off by the staff telling us as well as other guests they were closing in five minutes. Didn’t feel the love, let’s put it that way.

Awful service, the slowest I’ve ever experienced. They do not work their drive thru at all. Typical average wait is 15+ minutes even when it’s dead. Inside service isn’t much quicker. I waited 10 minutes for a latte last week when there were only 2 other people waiting for orders.

I happened to be on this side of town picking up an order from Frayed Knot Farm/The Collab and on the way back to the west side I was in desperate need of a pick me up.
After a Google search for cafes nearby buckeye popped up and I figured I’d give it a try especially since I’d rather support an independent business versus a Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts.
They young lady behind the counter was very attentive and kind. She is also a master barista because this was the fastest latte I’ve ever had in my life!
I was excited when I saw that they could make a lavender oat milk latte (which has recently been my go to) and I could t leave a place named Buckeye Chocolate Cafe without trying some of their buckeyes.
If you’re ever in the Bainbridge area and in need a caffeine fix definitely check this place out! I wish I lived in the area so I could frequent more often.
