This spot is in the 3rd St. Market Hall just inside the north door entrance (Wisconsin Ave) and to the right. Order at the counter and they have about a dozen bar spots to sit at. I ordered the wasabi toro roll and a spicy salmon crunch roll. Both were quite tasty, but only six pieces, so a little on the small side for the price. The Market Hall is quite loud, so it wouldn’t be a great place to come if you want to sit and visit, but I was solo, so it wasn’t bad. The sushi seemed fairly fresh for 3:30 in the afternoon, and I would probably come back.

In town for the Violent Femmes concert and we were looking for something to eat, it’s really close!! Maybe only a block and a half. There are tons of options and we chose Kawa Ramen. The ordering was fast and easy, wait time quick, and all of our food was super hot and yummy! We ordered Gyoza, yuzu chicken and paiton chicken. All was delicious

My first visit to 3rd Street Market Hall was this ramen joint. I ordered the Yuzu chicken ramen — it was perfectly fine for the price point. Perhaps the food experience was hampered by my desire to dine outdoors in 15⁰ wind chill to eat COVID cautiously. The noodles and other toppings were separated from the broth upon takeout so they wouldn’t get soggy, and the flavor eventually appreciated when I mixed everything in. (Less chicken than I was expecting, but the eggs were cooked just right to make me feel full of protein!) With the provided soy sauce packets it was salted to my expectations, but it wasn’t anything terribly mind-blowing. For cons and events it’s more than serviceable for keeping you on your feet! Next time, if I return, I’ll try something on their menu with more oomph.

Had a few drinks at the bar and decided to share an Incredible Roll with my Wife and it was out of this world amazing! We will definitely be back for more. We are new to the sushi scene but this is by far the best (cooked) sushi we’ve had thus far, the girl told us eel was her favorite so we intend on coming back to try just that! Bravo Kawa!

I was in the area for a meeting. But the atmosphere here was soo cool that I had to stop by and eat. They have a front counter section where you can sit down and eat at.
I used to frequent the Kawa on North Ave but it closed. This place is good, but the food didn’t quite compare to the closed one. Still good though and definitely worth stopping by. Not sure if they change their menus but the hellfire ramen was only available with chicken. The pork was by far superior. Would come back if they offered it.

Hoping this spot gets replaced for a better Asian spot. The ingredients are so basic in Americanized. It’s not even funny anymore. I might as well go to Sendiks for their deli sushi instead. It’s fresh air. It taste better. The coleslaw they add to bowl taste like nothing at all and I say the same about the right. It’s really giving that boxed minute rice look and taste. This place is not a spot I’d go back to at all. It’s a bummer because that is 1 of 2 Asian spots in the market hall and I can’t say the other spot is much better. Money wasted today.

I ordered the teriyaki salmon bowl and the Japanese Green Tea. I love the salmon bowl and ate it all right away. The Green tea was new for me, it was good. I will be back to try the ramen!
