This place was great!!! It’s absolutely adorable with a nice atmosphere and decor. The staff was all friendly and attentive and helpful!

I ended up getting waffles with a side of bacon and drip coffee, and my husband got a breakfast grilled cheese with a pistachio latte. Everything tasted amazing!! The waffles were the perfect texture. The berries and whipped cream were generously portioned. The bacon was *perfect!!!* I’m a coffee snob but they have good stuff! I tried my husband’s sandwhich and it was also great! We will definitely be back again.

Great!! Terrific restaurant, lots of options and the food is delicious. Fresh and very healthy. Vegan and gluten free options. I had the smoky black bean soup and the ham sammy. So good!! Such a nice place “Nestled in the foothills of the Berkshire mountains.” Great coffee in an amazing mug.

We have eaten here numerous times and always been delighted with the food, service, and the atmosphere of the place. It has a cozy, friendly and cheerful, casual atmosphere. Their specials are delicious. The sandwiches are purposefully made and not just “thrown” together. We love to eat here!

I was shocked by how above expectations everything was. Caesar wrap, egg salad sandwich we’re good, but the real stars of the show were the homemade potato chips. Those are, legit incredible. Additionally my vanilla latte was soooo smooth and creamy with great flavor. All the natural lighting compliments the cafe excellently and makes this place worth a stop in

What a great lunch experience on the road today. Finished up my meeting at Northwestern CT State College and headed to the Railway Cafe. Local, warm, inviting, friendly and attentive staff (2 sisters, their brother and his best friend. Piper, Ben and Sean. Sorry I missed the other sisters name but she was awesome as well. Fried chicken sandwich with homemade chips was tasty and washed down with a seltzer. Do yourself a favor and stop by the Railway Cafe in Winstead, CT!

First time at this local Winsted establishment and very impressed. We arrived just after 11 AM which is when they take down the breakfast menu so we were only exposed to their lunch offerings – ended up taking their pulled pork BBQ sandwich and their tomato bisque soup – both very much to our liking. Coffee was nice and hot, service prompt, efficient, helpful and friendly. Decor and vibe are great. They go to a lot of trouble to use local ingredients with a farm-to-table ethic where possible. They make their own potato chips – very good. We will definitely be back and will definitely recommend to folk visiting with us from out of town.

Street entrance has steps – we had crutches and were able to easily enter using their side/kitchen entrance. Wheelchair would have been very tricky.

They have outside seating and various separate spaces inside.

When the menu is small, the Food will be good. The menu here is small, and the food was superb. It was easy to pick what I wanted.

The food itself was really good and made fresh. The hot chocolate with whipped cream wasn’t overly sweet, I deeply appreciated that. The eggs and vegetables were cooked perfectly. 10/10 highly recommend.

Prices are also very affordable and the food is filling.

The staff was very attentive and cheerful. They carried themselves courteously and graciously. This place is one to visit if you’re ever in the Winstead area.
