A delightful little BBQ Restaurant. Get the double cheeseburger – all the way. You will want a second one before you leave… Don’t order a side of hush puppies, they only give four and they for 2.22!

Love coming here. Daily specials, service is top notch and you don’t have to worry about seeing staff with their pants down around their knees or hearing vulgar music. Grit is usually on the TV which is fine with me even though im not a huge westen fan. 1 and 2 star reviews are BS and I’m willing to bet they never ate here.

I wanted to try authentic southern BBQ, so I got the BBQ platter. Unfortunately, this consisted of a spoonful of cool, wet, bland meat on a plastic plate, coleslaw that was way too sweet to eat, and mashed potatoes that were mediocre. The fried bread hush puppies were delicious.

I was impressed with size of my 1/2 rack of ribs. They had a charred look, it may have just been the rub, but they were tender throughout. The smokey flavor and the rub were awesome together. These were maybe the best ribs I’ve ever had the pleasure to eat. I enjoyed them best with no sauce but I did sample their sauces.I preferred the original table sauce over the sweet one they put on the plate, it was a super pairing with the ribs.

The way you treat your staff is waaaay more important than how good your food is. Even if the food was good, one female owner chastised our waitress for not knowing our vendor paid for our food. She spoke to her like a dog right in front of us. I’d rather spend my money in an establishment that supports, respects and builds up their employees rather than stripping them of dignity in front of paying customers. Boo!

If your in the hickory area and looking for home cooking, don’t pass up scotties. Friendly service and fresh, hot, home cooked food. The ribs fall off the bone and the BBQ pork has great flavor. Occasionally they have home cooked pies and deserts as well. You wont be dissatisfied with any items on the menu.

Went to Scottie’s on a whim. Although it was slightly out of the way, it was well worth it. If our are looking for fine china, this isn’t the place for you. If you are interested in good food and friendly staff go here. I had the BBQ platter and I’d recommend it!

If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars I would. The food is excellent not one complaint. The worker’s there are awesome. They greet you with a smile and a few laughs.
