We were there not long after opening on a Monday evening, so it was quiet, didn’t need to book ahead.
Yes, there are cheaper places to eat in Town, but the belly pork was more than worth it.
*Sorry, food was too good to wait for pics, it didn’t arrive half eaten *
2 adults and 1 child – generous portions and everything was delicious. Server was very pleasant. Will be back.
(PS: I don’t have a picture of the ube brownie because I ordered it to take away)
Great starters and a solid selection of mains. Great service.
Teayempo exceeded all expectations, offering exceptional food paired with outstanding customer service. Here’s what we enjoyed during our visit:
* 4-Piece Shumai: Perfectly steamed dumplings filled with minced pork, vegetables, eggs, and seasoning, encased in wonton pastry. Delicately soft and flavorful, these shumai brought back nostalgic, homely vibes.
* Teayempo Express: Tender pork strips cooked in coconut cream, shrimp paste, and fresh chili, served with steamed rice. This dish was a standout! The rich, creamy coconut base was beautifully balanced with just the right chili kick, creating a warm, satisfying flavor profile.
* Crispy Pork Belly: Perfectly crispy pork slices served with their signature sweet sauce, which had a subtle tang reminiscent of hoisin or kingdu sauce. The combination of crispy textures and tender meat made this a memorable dish.
* Soft Shell Crab Sushi (8 Pieces): Crispy, fresh, and well-prepared, the sushi met expectations with its generous serving size and excellent presentation.
* Brownie Dessert with Vanilla Ice Cream and Strawberries: A perfect way to end the meal. The dessert was a harmonious balance of sweetness, complemented by fresh fruit. The portion size was ideal for sharing.
Teayempo was an unexpected find, located next to St Sushi, and we arrived without any expectations. Yet, the bold, well-balanced flavours, combined with a perfect level of chili kick (great for locals), made this an extraordinary experience. As someone who loves spice, I wouldn’t mind a little more heat, but that’s just a personal preference!
All in all, Teayempo delivered a fantastic dining experience that I wholeheartedly recommend. Thank you Anthony for the wonderful experience
The starters were good, had the most tender Korean BBQ wings I’ve ever had – they literally fell of the bones, very well marinated. I accompanied it with a portion of their California roll – unfortunately it didn’t have too much tobiko on the outside of the roll, which usually is signature of a cali roll. But the taste was good, creamy with the avocado and imitation crab stick.
Next up was the Pork Adobo Donburi, which was served separately to the rice for myself to mix in to my liking. Again, very well tenderised cuts of pork – the adobo is unlike your South American style ones; heavy with paprika but more on the south Asian style, with coconut and pineapple tastes.
The lady who served us was very attentive and lovely, amazing service from the staff and the main course came pretty quickly after the starters. Would recommend if you’re peckish for some pan-Asian fusion food!
