We had a great time at Jorge’s! We had originally tried to go to a different spot but the wait was too long. Discovered Jorge’s and decided to try something new.
It was fantastic! All the food was reasonable, service was great, fantastic chips guac salsa queso. Loved it. Will def be coming back in the future.

I was introduced to Jorge’s by a friend and I’m very thankful they reccomended them! As a person who is addicted to Mexican food it’s been frustrating to not know of a good place to go to in San Marcos. Well, now I know. Go to Jorge’s! I have liked all of the plates I’ve had so far and I’m a HUGE fan of their salsa which, for me, is ultimately the most important food item at a Mexican food place.

Would not recommend this place to anyone. We were sat in front of a huge fan by the front door and when we asked to be moved they said we will just move the fan. The food is overpriced, my plate came with a salad. The picture I shared is the salad that I did not touch at all. My husband ordered a ribeye Medium Well and it came out Medium Rare, he asked for A-1 to mask it and just deal with it, but the sauce someone who was not our waitress brought him, was an empty bottle, when we returned the steak later, and were telling the waitress- she told him he should have asked for more A-1. They took off half price for the steak but that wasn’t the point. Just overall it was not a vibe, and what was so funny was that the server offered cups and drinks togo, we said no thanks, my daughter changed her mind and said she wanted a cup for the water. They charged $.35 for the cup. Gratuity is added for parties of or more, which is fine, but the server Irene must take advantage of it to give poor service knowing she will get gratuity.

Fantastic Mexican food in San Marcos. Great lunch specials. We had the sour cream enchiladas on Thursday. Most lunch specials have some type of enchilada. A must try if you are looking for a reasonably priced meal without the hassles of downtown dining. Talia was our waitress and she was very attentive and nice. Definitely will return.

The food is good, but relies heavily on hot peppers for seasoning and is light on herbs, even cilantro. The bar is ok. The problem with the atmosphere was they had a DJ that was excessively loud. It was very hard to converse with fellow diners. It made for an absolutely miserable dining experience. It took a long time to receive our food. We left as soon as we finished eating. If the music had been quieter, we might have stayed for another round of drinks from the bar. Left with my ears ringing from the volume.

I really liked the atmosphere here. The staff was very friendly. The food was pretty good. For some reason, I did not care for the chili sauce on the enchiladas. I probably should have tried the green sauce and will on my next visit. The carne guisada was very good, tender and great flavor. I always love to find homemade corn tortillas. The carne asada nachos were excellent. I will update this review after another visit.

I was so excited to visit this establishment but was so disappointed 1st by our waitress Jackie, she may been over worked or something. She was not pleasant and seemed standoffish. I ordered puffy tacos the item was flat so small, maybe the size of a street taco tortilla. The meat was either over cooked or recooked.

Great place, great atmosphere the food was delicious. I can’t say enough about the service! ALEX was on point, great waiter. It was our first time here. I highly recommend this restaurant.
