We got the tapsilog (steak with rice eggs and grape tomatoes. On your table you’ll find some soy sauce with calimansi, salt, pepper, and grandma tete’s hot sauce. We also ordered a stack of ube pancakes and pandan pancakes.
I really enjoyed the tapsilog. The flavor of the meat had a citrus taste to it and it paired well with the rice, eggs, tomatoes, and the soy and hot sauce. I enjoyed the ube pancakes and how fluffy they were. The pandan pancakes were also fluffy and had the best taste in my opinion due to the pandan coconut combo but both pancakes were good. The pancakes were large and stacked in 3s topped with whipped cream and they came with some ube or pandan sauce that you can use as syrup.
Really good spot. I’d love to come back.
We will try again and hope we can get a table and try the other dishes they have.
Last thing, I love seeing Filipino families eating with their fingers…lol. I grew up that way but haven’t done that in forever lol.
We ordered topsilog, lechon kawali silog, corned beef silog and pandan pancakes.
The lechon was crispy and came with a tasty vinegary sauce! The topsilog was tender and paired perfectly with the rice and eggs. The corned beef came in a pot and served hot with onions, green onions and crunchy garlic topping. The beef was juicy oily and perfect for the rainy weather. Lastly the pandan pancakes were fluffy and stuffed with coconut shredding and came with a sweet coconut sauce to go over. All Filipino breakfasts came with hot rice, runny eggs which was perfect for my boyfriend and I. We ate everything and only had a bit of pancake leftover, the owner gave us a takeaway sauce to enjoy for later. Portions are perfect for one person and I’d highly recommend getting a bit of everything to share.
We drove 8hrs to visit family and would do it again just to visit this spot ! Thank you to the owner for being so welcoming and hospitable during our visit.
One thing is that the rice was semi dry combined with soy sauce it was good!
Now let me get down on the pancakes. 3 stacks and was massive. Had a slight hint of pandan but wasn’t strong, however, if you combine it with the dip sauce the pancakes goes HARDDDD. I will be back for them pancakes for SURE. IHop or any other brunch place aint got NOTHING on them pancakes.
Note that the place is small, so dining in can be difficult. Biggest table is 4 people and they have roughly 4-5 tables. Overall, great food!!
We got their tapsilog which was thinly sliced marinated beef with rice and 2 sunny side up eggs. The beef had such a burst of flavor. We also got their ube pancakes. I’m more of a waffle fan than a pancake one, but I will say the ube pancakes were probably one of the best pancakes I’ve ever had.
We were not expecting to like this gem on Greenville Avenue, though we’ve heard of it but haven’t had an opportunity to try it until today.
We originally came to try the Ube Pancakes but were treated to the Sunday special, Batchoy! It also came with Fried Siomai, although the perfect pairing would have been siopao, ijs.
We also ordered the Lechon Kawali-Silog (usually a fave and of course we had to compare with the other Filipino restaurants nearby), Ube Pancakes (this one is a must, even when you decided that you were starting your diet LOL), and lastly the Halo halo (looks easy enough to assemble, but not all are equally good). Their Halo halo version received a 2 thumbs up from our expert in everything sweet and ubiquitously Pinoy.
Thank you for bringing more Pinoy flavors to Dallas. Will definitely be back for more. Please expand so we can actually have a party
Some cons: for large groups, be prepared to be separated into 4s , total seating is 24. The place is super cold, so bring a sweater.
