Great ambience! It was tasty, gave decently-sized portions, and had beautifully plated dishes (not to mention, the drinks they offer!)! Servers seemed to have a good grasp of the menu. Our servers were also quite friendly and patient when we (as in me) inquired for more time to choose which delicious entre I would pick. They were also very helpful! It happened to be my birthday that day as well, and they gave me a birthday dessert on the house which I really appreciated as well. Delicious food! I saw many more options (both food and drink) that I would love to try! I’ll be back!

This Thai restaurant in Green Lake comes from the same owners behind Kin Len and Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen, so expectations were understandably high. Unlike those two, this spot leans more toward Thai-Chinese dishes and noodles, with a more casual, noodle-focused menu.

The chrysanthemum slushie and Thai tea slushie are absolute must-tries — both were refreshing, well-balanced, and easily some of the best drinks we had during the meal.

For appetizers, the crab beancurd roll was enjoyable and nicely done. The pandan leaf chicken, however, fell short. It lacked the fragrance and depth of flavor I usually expect from this dish, and I’ve had much better versions elsewhere.

We tried a couple of noodle dishes. The beef shank boat noodle was just okay — the beef itself was tender, but the broth was fairly mild and didn’t leave a strong impression. The tom yum moo noodle was better, topped with crispy pork belly, char siu, and ground pork. While satisfying, I did wish the tom yum flavor had a bit more punch.

The pad kee mao was solid, with good wok char and seasoning. The hot plate egg tofu, on the other hand, was forgettable and didn’t stand out.

The clear highlight of the meal was the New York steak curry. The curry was flavorful and well-balanced, and the steak was cooked perfectly. This is easily a must-order and the dish that impressed me the most.

Service was friendly throughout the meal, and the decor was thoughtfully done and pleasant. That said, despite a couple strong dishes, I personally still prefer Kin Len and Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen by a wide margin. Overall, I enjoyed parts of the experience but don’t see myself coming back.

We started with appetizers—Golden Four Corners and duck spring rolls—then moved on to the boat noodles and pad kee mao. Everything tasted truly authentic. The real standouts, were the sukiyaki and Mama hot pot; flavorful, big portions & good price.

For dessert, the crispy fried coconut ice cream was my absolute favorite.

The vibe here is unlike other Thai restaurants—cool, vibrant, and perfect for dinner with friends or family. Overall, the prices are reasonable, the service is good, and the portions are generous. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

First time visitor and would love to come back for more. Saw this on instagram as a sister shop for both Isarn Thai and Kin Len (we also love both of these restaurants) so we anticipated this to be good and it did not disappoint. Wait time was a little long (we did wait for almost an hour after putting out name down) but to be fair we came here at peak dinner hour on a Saturday – definitely prepare to wait tho especially since they are relatively newly opened. All the food was great but dishes I’d highly recommend to try are the Pandan lead chicken for appetizers, spicy yum noodles and their bread dessert dish with panda cream and butter. I don’t think we have tried their best dishes yet so definitely coming back for more next time!

I ordered Pad See Ew for takeout before, and even though the restaurant was buzzing with customers, I was surprised by how quickly my order was ready. The atmosphere, the aroma inside the restaurant, and the staff’s friendly service were all excellent. The food was delicious, and the portion size was generous. I honestly thought it was a great business model and looked forward to ordering again.

However, when I ordered the same dish today in the afternoon, the experience was quite different. The beef was thick like steak instead of thinly sliced, the portion was noticeably smaller—about two-thirds of what I received last time—and the dish tasted watery with uneven seasoning. It felt like a completely different meal compared to my first visit.

I hope this feedback is helpful for the kitchen staff. The quality difference between my two orders was significant, and consistency will make an already good place even better.

The food here is incredible! You can tell a lot of care goes into the presentation and flavors of every dish. We started with the duck spring rolls and crispy wontons, both of which were cooked perfectly.

For mains, we tried the baked crab with glass noodles and the crispy pork with gai lan, but the standout was definitely the XO seafood noodles—highly recommend ordering that. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has a great menu selection.

The only downside was the Thai ice tea; they only offered a slushy version which tasted more like coffee than tea, so it wasn’t really my preference. Overall, still a great experience.

There are so many Thai restaurants everywhere, but Gao Lhao hits different. The menu features more Chinese style Thai dishes like wonton noodle soup and crispy pork belly or cha siu in their tom yum. This place gets busy during dinner time so be prepared to be wait, but the bar is open seating and first come first serve. They’ve also got happy hour!

Faves: Tom yum moo, Calamari salad, NY steak garlic rice, Crab fried rice (sooooo fluffy!), bbq pork bha mee hang bowl, fish sauce wings, crysanthemum freeze

Can’t believe finally tried the Thai-Chinese authentic noodle! the foods were so tasty and the portion was worth it! so huge!

we ordered Bha mee hang bowl version (crispy pork, bbq pork, egg) with egg noodle, then another one was Tom yum moo.

To be honest the hang bowl version was so good and similar to Indonesian noodle that I had in my hometown!
for the tom yum version, I liked it and the broth was rich! but I still prefer the dry noodle version. i think it is back to preference.

Calamari is worth to try as appetizer as well!

Definitely gonna come back for steamboat version next time.

Excellent experience – unique, risky cocktails, deeply flavored food.

We ordered the spicy pork jowl, the sizzling suki plate, and the tom yum moo, which reminded me of khao soi.

Everything was honestly really good. So flavorful, spicier than you think, but the noodles had a great chew of the bite.

Would absolutely come back here and try more things. Among the best Thai I’ve had in Seattle and reasonably priced too.

Had an early side quest to find some new Thai food, and this newer noodle spot in Seattle was worth the try. I ordered what they call the Kurobuta noodle soup, and it was very good—rich in flavor and slightly thicker but still balanced. They give a fair amount of meat and noodles, which I appreciated. I also got the crispy chive cakes, which were tasty as well.

The whole restaurant has a clean, aesthetic vibe and a great atmosphere. Parking can be a little limited since it’s mostly street parking, but overall I’d definitely try this place again
