I wanted to try something different tonight so I chose La Casa del Sabor Costa Rican restaurant. We brought our own bottle of wine . We decided to get yuca frita as an appetizer. The sauce was a mixture of sour cream and salt. I definitely didn’t try it, but my wife ate it and thought it was a little bit on the salty side. For my main course I ordered the Consado pollo, while my wife got the Casado carne. I thought the little cabbage salad that came with it was absolutely delicious. The beans were different than what I have been accustomed to, but was really good. The pollo was cooked to perfection and I incorporated everything into one pile to eat. It came with sweet plantains, but I wish I had tostones instead. Overall we really liked it here. Just need to keep an eye on the waitresses as we sat there for a while waiting for the bill. I with out a doubt will go back.

Place seems small from the outside but it stretches inside, it is very comfortable and cozy, well decorated and clean, our server was very attentive and courteous. Restrooms are clean and well stocked. Menu is available online and a webpage with additional photos and business information.

We stopped in spur of the moment. Not realizing that they had closed, they open just for us. We were able to purchase delicious baked treats. Unfortunately I don’t speak Spanish. But the family was very helpful explaining the flavors and how to serve. My hubby and I were very pleased with our delicious sweet and savory treats!!

Incredible food. The casado with bistec encebollado is delicious. The Costa Rican tacos were crispy and well seasoned. Loved everything, including the ambiance. It was worth the 45 minute drive.

It was very delicious! We came from Texas to visit some family up here in New Jersey, and they recommended this restaurant. It over exceeded my expectations! The waiters and cook were very friendly and kind. I definitely recommend going there to eat, you will not regret it!
