Updated: We tried this place again, twice in November 27, we tried their snack pak, I had a catfish sandwich, fries and a drink for $9.99. My husband tried their fried pork chop sandwich, fries and a drink for the same price. Everything was good, the tarter sauce was different. The batter on the catfish was a cornmeal and nicely crusted and stayed on the fish. The pork chop was a flour base batter and had a great flavor. The French fries were hand cut fries. In December 4, we went with church members, I had the liver and onions on the menu. I wished there were more onions and sliced thinly to eat. My husband tried one of their potatoes. Dot & Mel came in and offered fried green tomatoes, which were great! My husband, granddaughter and I finally visited this place after church. We ordered turkey and dressing for $13.99, then additional sides for $2.99 each. We were offered cranberry or gravy. The food was very good, you could tell it was homemade! My husband had greens and green beans, which he said were very good. I had mashed potatoes (very creamy and more on the runny side) and macaroni & cheese ( very cheesy and just plain good & gooey). Normally when we go to other places and order turkey and dressing, we get sliced turkey, dressing, gravy and fixings. But here you had your choice of a turkey leg or wing, these pieces were on steroids, lol, huge. They looked like they were cooked on a grill. A piece of cornbread rounded off the plate, very moist with some sweetness. Customer service was fantastic, several different employees coming by to make sure everything was okay. They even offered an ice pop with permission to our granddaughter. And of course, we needed boxes for our leftovers; which by the way tasted great later. Need to mention it is served like cafeteria style, menu is handwritten on eraser boards. Take your time reading because there are some great choices. We will be back to try something different.

This place is definitely a hidden gem! It was mine and my husband’s first time trying it today and I will say, they gained us as customers forever! ☺️ I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was so well seasoned and tender, just so flavorful and juicy. And amazing when combined with the waffles, which by itself was just as good! So fluffy and subtly sweet ❤️❤️
My husband got the beef tips on rice with scalloped potatoes and collard greens! In his words and I quote “ohhhhh yesssss!” Then scarfed down his plate!
The plates are a good size and filled us up with leftovers for later! I would definitely recommend this spot! Can’t wait to go back! ☺️❤️

Absolutely delicious! If you are looking to eat some home cooked food, this is definitely the place. Their selection of food looked so good, wanted to try it all. I had their popular Burger and homemade fries. OMG, yum yum yum. Will definitely be back.

Everytime I go to pick up a plate everything is good. I’ve tried Liver n Onions, Fried Ribs, Brisket, Catfish, Stuffed Turkey legs, Greens, my favorite Oxtails and rice , Jambalaya..I could go on and on..You all need to go by and eat there. You will not regret it.

We were from out of town and looked online and saw they had 20 out of 20 5 star reviews so we gave it a try. Now they will have 21! It’s a small little back street place with the absolute best food you can buy! People were nice and service was great! But the food was AMAZING!!

Just left Dot and Mel’s, they are really caring and amazing about their food and customers. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich with fries and husband had their hamburger and fries, everythjng was great . Will definitely be back when we come to Beeville.
