We called ahead and reserved the prime rib and it did not disappoint. The salad and baked potato that came with it were also on point. Could not give it a five since we had to wait about 1.5 hours to get our food. One waitress for the whole place. Not her fault nor fair to her, help wanted sign on the door…

Ben’s is as local bar as it gets. We stop in on bike or just go over for Fri or Sat night prime rib dinner. Everyone knows Tater and she can cook and always takes great care of us. Good drinks and great people hangout here. From tenderloin sandwich to prime rib great bar food. Place makes. You feel like thrown back to 60-70’s bar atmosphere. Also can set outside on patio.

Had a group of 8 drop in at Ben’s Bar in Shirley, all friends up from Florida. We all ordered food and let me say…. BEN’S DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Food and service were perfect! Everyone complimented on the tenderloins and onion rings, plus the ham and bean soup was their special of the day! Yummy! Thanks to the Ben’s staff for making this a great experience and visit with friends. Linda and Jack

Had the worst experience for Prime Rob last Friday. Made reservations for 6pm and prepaid for it. We arrived at 6. At 7pm the waitress came out and advised us the steaks might be more towards “ medium’”. At 7:30 they brought out our food and the steaks were well done and cold.
No credit could get given because we prepaid for the meal.
I will also add I’ve had the best prime rib of my life here. However, it was after a friend had a similar experience and took me for the “fix it meal”.
I left a phone number for the owners but haven’t heard from them.
Shame I love the place and the food is supposed to be real good.

I don’t know what happened…this was the best place 6 months ago…and then I think the owner is allowing their “kids” to run it. So you have to prepay for prime rib which I find weird but I know why they do it. So I called on Wednesday to tell them two prime rib dinners for Friday. I told them I want mine rare…(the cook told me to do this) so that she knew to pull it off before it got over done. The new people answering the phones told me that can’t be done…(the cook told me it could) and proceeds to give me a lesson on how you cook prime rib. Haven’t been back since and stopped telling people about it. And they blocked me from their Facebook page for calling them out on it. If you want to know how to run a dive bar into the ground this is the place for you.

We have gone to Ben’s bar every Tuesday for “Taco Tuesday” for over a year now. The staff are friendly and fun! The food is delicious. The crowd there is always pleasant, polite, and friendly. When you leave, be sure to drive down Bunny row and check out the town’s free range bunnies.

I love this bar. I live not far from it. The food is great for the price. I have had tacos on Taco Tuesday, ribeye with either steak fries or lately their baked potato and a salad. Sometimes I get the large hamburger patty with salad and steak fries. I have never been disappointed. The staff is great. And the drinks are reasonable.
