Great spot to stop for a quick bakery/drink, sit and grab lunch, or work for a while. It’s on the pricier side, but you pay for quality and the use of local ingredients. I do wish they were open on Sunday!

This place is very hit or miss. The soups are fine but not worth the cost–I bought a frozen pinto bean soup that did not contain one single bean, imagine that. The staff is a bit pretentious but that is to be expected in Madison. One bright spot is the chicken pot pie, which may be the best pot pie I have ever tasted.

Oh, Pasture & Plenty, how I love thee!

We hosted a gathering for 20 in P & P’s new and gorgeously renovated space, and it was absolutely perfect. No detail was overlooked, and we could not be happier with the results.

Here are some of my favorite things:
– the FOOD
– the stoneware place settings, wooden serving bowls, & cotton napkins (really, all of the table fixings are lovely)
– P & P’s cooperation with local vendors (if they don’t already feature it, they will find it)
– the attention to detail & creative flair
– the kindness & professionalism shown by Kristi & her team
– It bears repeating – the fresh & tasty FOOD!

My expectations for this gathering were high, and Pasture & Plenty surpassed them in every way. Thank you, P & P, for creating a delicious & memorable evening!

Went for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food! The Eggs Benedict was very tasty and I loved the fresh side salad.
You order at the counter from the menu. They give you a number and bring your food to you. All of the farmers and purveyors they source from are kindly listed on a board above the counter. There are a number of sweets available to satisfy your sweet tooth.
On your way out pick a fresh frozen meal to go. So many to choose from and made right on sight!
Definitely a place to try!

Great place for a treat out. The service is fantastic! They are very friendly and accommodating. The prices are a little higher than I’m used to, but the food is fresh and healthy! That makes it more than worth it! Excited for them to have their dine-in option available.

Words cannot express how much I am in love with this establishment–let me count the ways:
1. Delicious local fresh farm-to-table foods paired creatively to please both the healthy AND the hearty eater.
2. Fridges FULL of pre prepped meals for 2 (or more) ready to cook. Prices run ~$9 per serving–comparable to the standard delivery meal prep companies like Blue Apron.
3. Sustainable kitchen utensils and cleaning materials for sale to save you time and reduce waste–the beeswax reusable wraps are better priced than Amazon!
4. The environment is bright, friendly, tastefully decorated and encourages community mingling: sit at a community table or a seat off to the side.
5. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Madison has always been accommodating for food intolerances but this restaurant makes it so easy to find something for everyone.
6. Classes and events: local space with Friday night fish fry, cooking classes in their demo kitchen in the back and even a drag brunch coming up August 17th!! Coming from NYC this makes me smile to see.
7. Collaboration with other local businesses: there are close to a visible dozen different contributions from various local entrepreneurs all supporting each other.

If you can make it there for a full meal, look into their delivery meals option!

Must try: chia seed pudding is perfect we’ll rounded snack or breakfast, egg sandwich with red pepper jam will have you coming back for a second, and their french toast doesn’t even need syrup–so light and fluffy you don’t feel overly full afterwards!

Food: Delicious. Personally, I’ve never had a bad meal from Pasture and Plenty (P&P). Their food is made with care and creativity, and always presented in a way that reminds us “our eyes eat first.” Their mantra is “farm to table,” and I’ve never doubted this.

I should mention, however, that P&P hasn’t been the most consistent when it comes food prep. Over time, friends and I have ordered several of our favorite foods that will have the same price but won’t always include the same combination of foods/ingredients. For example, I’ve ordered the toast and sunflower butter at least 3 different times and every single time, it has been different – despite having paid the same price (~$4). It has come with different breads, or has come with salad, or has come in the form or a sunflower butter sandwich with salad on the side. They’ve all tasted great, but it’s a bit odd knowing that what I order might not be predictable.

Atmosphere: Crisp and refreshing, with white walls, beautifully tiled floors and a flawless gestalt of ceramics. Honesty, my favorite part of the place is how their plates, cups, and other ceramics help their food to be visually satisfying.

Staff: The staff have been friendly with me at every encounter – except one. A group of friends and I met on a Saturday morning at P&P where we wanted to grab brunch and play some cards. There were 5 of us and we all ordered full plates + drinks/snacks. We spent ~2 hours at P&P while playing cards, eating and enjoying each other’s company. However, one of the staff members asked us to leave 3 times. I don’t recall our group being too loud, aggressive or distracting. It was very off-putting, especially given that we had been there several times in the past, and have done the same thing – cards at brunch. Ever since, I’ve felt somewhat unwelcome, like they shunned our group of repeat customers.

Conclusion: The food tastes and looks great. However, keep in mind that although you might be paying for the same meal at recurrent encounters, they’ll differ noticeably over time.

Newly rennovated and beautiful interior. The service is great: one might even say neighborly. The meals I’ve had here in the past have been good, perhaps a bit hit or miss, but I will be returning for more.

What a cool place with the most interesting and delicious things! The last time I had alfajores was in Argentina, and they had Christmas alfajores here! Wow!

We picked up an Edible Madison charcuterie box for an online workshop they are offering and it was So Worth the $25 cost – an amazing amount of local cheeses, salamis, crackers, jams, fruit, nuts, garnishes – just superb!

The people that work here are really nice too. So looking forward to the workshop and to returning here for brunch and more good stuff.
