*Edited on 10/1/24 to add: I’ve been back several times and they seem to have worked out the kinks! Staff is still friendly as ever, sandwiches are still the best in the area, but now things are running more efficiently and consistently. Thank you Central Sandwich for a delicious lunch every time!
Best lunch place in McKinleyville, best sandwiches in Humboldt County for sure, but the staff has been struggling lately and things are inconsistent. After some recent staff changes, I’m now charged a different price for the same custom sandwich every single time I order it and twice I’ve ordered ahead only to receive the incorrect sandwich. Staff is apologetic, but it’s annoying to have this happen frequently and it seems maybe it should be made right with a sandwich on the house or a coupon for a bag of chips or something. The last time they messed up, they didn’t answer their phone, so I had to drive all the way back to get things fixed after I had already driven there once and waited in the long line just for them to give me the wrong sandwich. I love this place and appreciate the kind staff, but whoever is training them on logistics needs to step it up. Not sure what the point of ordering ahead is, if you then wait in a long line for your food anyway. Online ordering system only lets you select one “extra” so you can’t pick avocado and cheese on the same sandwich and it wants to charge you $1.75 to cut the salami portion in half, which makes no sense. This place used to run like a well-oiled machine. I’m hopeful they can get back to that.

Traveling found this gem. Husband and I both got sandwiches. You get what you pay for. It’s no small sandwich. Fresh sliced meats and fresh made rolls. We would recommend. We liked them so much on the way back through the area we had to stop for another sandwich.
