Quality has really declined last few times Ive been. Was never top quality, but good enough. Last two times, the salmon has been awfully cut. Large chunks of fatty skin, almost no meat. Taste is bad. My sushi loving kids who rate it their #1 food dont even want to eat it when I have bought it for them. Really tells you everything.

The third momiji sushi restaurant my family and I visited in the state of Oregon. Newport, Salem, & Portland. Excellent quality sushi & service.

Just okay. Maybe less than okay. The roll was kind of sloppily made. The sashimi platter was practically FROZEN cold!! It was very hard to eat, felt like the fish had JUST been taken out of the freezer. The scallop nigiri was very meh. Honestly I’d rather go to the cheap conveyer belt by my house, it’s higher quality than this place.

This place I would highly recommend. The serves here was very good and nice even though it took me forover for some people in my party to choose what they wanted. They also have good atmosphere and the tables are clean and doesn’t take that much time to wait (5-10 minutes for my party). The food was also very good and I hope you guys are able to come her with a party and have a good time as well a I did when I came.
Also side note (that doesn’t have to do with my review of this place) I would like to apologize for not posting in such a long time but I will be able to start posting agian.

Started off with the Oregon Salmon. I could barely swallow the first bite. I thought maybe the wasabi. Next bite, spit it out in the napkin in the trash it goes. Got to the kickboxer, it was better. The shop is tiny, clean and cute. Staff was very nice.
I do not recommend the Oregon Salmon

Super easy and quick. Perfect for pick up. I do wish there was a way to add comments to online orders. I recently had an order that had a sesame allergy noted that came with sesame seeds on it, so added a box to add a comment about needs/restrictions would be great.

I ordered spring rolls and a tiger roll. The spring rolls were really mushy inside, so I only had two. As for the tiger roll, more mush! It looked delicious, but I detected a very unpleasant mushy feel in the first two bites. When I investigated, I discovered the unpleasant “mush” was the tuna spread on top, where there would normally be a piece of fish. It was ground up tuna mush instead (different from spicy tuna which is chopped and mixed with a spicy sauce). Just a tuna mush. The texture was so gross I could only eat the sushi roll after scraping off the mush. Why would they grind up a piece of fish like that? For the price (18.00) I would anticipate at least a medium to high quality piece of tuna on the top.

Excellent sushi for an excellent price. They have a few rolls under $10 that are delicious. I would recommend the Salem roll.

I’ve driven past Momiji many times and never even noticed it. I found it because I was looking for a local sushi place that’s open on Sundays. This sunny Sunday six of us met at Momiji for a late lunch and had a great experience. I ordered the sampler with the blackened tuna sashimi (yum!), some ngiri, a couple of rolls, miso, and cucumber salad. For $32 this sampler is an incredible deal! It fed two of us and we gave away a few pieces. The menu contains more cooked fish than raw, but hey, this is America. My friends ordered a wide variety and it all looked good. I like that they offer mini rolls too. They don’t have sake but you can use the crosswalk and get sake at Safeway, as well as finding a restroom. We sat at the outdoor picnic tables inside a wooden fence, and any road noise was quickly forgotten. It’s set back from Barbur Blvd by a couple of lanes. The waitress was friendly and the kitchen efficient–our orders arrived quickly. The cook had rolled my wasabi into a ball and pressed sesame seeds into it to make a smiley face. Another woman (the proprietor?) was visible while we were eating and wiped down all the surfaces in the front of the restaurant. It is pollen season, after all. The parking area was in the shadow of a billboard and our cars were nice and cool when we came out. My main disappointment was that I didn’t find Momiji sooner! We will be back, thank you!!

Very yummy, decent prices. But they shorted me a piece of nigiri (should have had 4 salmon).
Update: Recently came back. Salmon nigiri is still delicious. Not a fan of the godzilla or lady dragon personally, but they were still fresh ingredients.
