Stumbled upon this place as I was driving downtown. Highly rated by the locals and it was busy so I stopped in for a quick bite. I got the Western Burger which was cooked about perfectly, it had Ham, and barbecue sauce, and onion ring, Mine also had lettuce tomato and pickles. The burger was juicy, hot and not overcooked. I opted for the curly fries and they were served with nacho cheese cheese which is an immediate win in my book. The fries were all consistanlty hot and crsipy. Nothing crazy fancy here but the food and service were great! Would eat here again.

Stopped in for a quick bite. Great menu to choose from. Customer service is over the top [others could take lessons], food was PERFECT [WE ORDERED STEAK AND CHICKEN KABOBS], atmosphere very inviting. I would recommend this place for sure AND we will be back. Not sure what to eat next time.. yummmmm

Heard several good comments about this place and it was indeed good. I had the fish n chips and although I don’t care for skinny fries, these did taste good…nicely fried but NOT greasy and speaking of NOT greasy…the fish was amazingly crisp on the outside and moist/yummy on the inside. One of the business partners made a special visit to our table and it was certainly a pleasure to meet her and chat about the restaurant for a wee bit. Waitstaff was fabulous and they have quite an extensive menu!
Only drawback in my opinion is that they don’t have a lot of vegetarian-friendly options besides salad. Aside from that, I’ll definitely go back!
Oh and they just started serving breakfast….bonus points!!!

They’ve added a veggie burger to the menu. Awesome choice and the sweet potato waffle fries are FABULOUS!

Excellent food – had the chicken fried steak and chicken fried boneless pork chops, both with real mashed potatoes and country gravy. Seasoned lightly so you could taste the food. House salad was fresh and crisp. We shared the carrot cake and it was delicious – moist and flavorful (thankfully no raisins or pineapple) with a perfect cream cheese frosting. The servings were generous and all was priced reasonably.

We had a great experience last night! The service was good, waitress was attentive. I had a bison cheeseburger with fries- very good! My husband had the fried pork chop special and enjoyed it. We shared blueberry cobbler with ice cream- worth every penny, so good!! We are from KC but would go back again if it was closer.

I give this place 5 stars just for the customer service alone! Me and my fiancé came in on a busy night and they only had two servers. They worked tirelessly the whole time we were there, taking care all of their guests as quick as they could. Our server was a wonderful gentleman who was very polite, pleasant and attentive. He brought out our drinks, salads and appetizer right away. We waited quite a long time for our food but our server came over to inform us that their ticket printer had malfunctioned and that our ticket got lost in the mix. He apologized heavily and then told us our meal was on the house due to how long we had waited. I had the chicken planks and my fiancé had the chicken fried steak. Everything was delicious and was basically like having a home-cooked meal away from home. We ordered 2 carrot cakes to go and were ready for our check but our server told us no, that they were going comp our ENTIRE meal, not just the entrees. We highly recommend Tate’s if you’re ever in the area! Wonderful staff and food! A great experience!

We have been working in Scott City for the last 4 days. We have eaten here every day. The menu is amazing and the food is even better! I only wish they were closer than 6 hours from home. I was told by the manager, that Tate is a certified chef. He has worked in top restaurants in St Louis and wanted to have his own place. His food is 5 star. I was truly impressed with the service and the food in this small town restaurant. If you get anywhere near Scott City, check them out!

I have never eaten in this restaurant, but have had their catered meals several times. Delicious, homemade, comfort food! Roast beef, meatloaf, salad, potatoes and gravy, veggies, and cobblers. Great service everytime we have called them. We have used them for family reunions and funeral dinners. Worth every penny!

Looking for something to eat after exploring Little Jerusalem Badlands State Park. Good and friendly service. Food was good. Portions were a bit on the skinny side but not horrible. Perhaps they looked at me and thought I needed to lose some weight. :-). Overall I would definably recommend if you are in Scott City.
