Close to home and I visited on a cold snowy night! I was impressed. The sushi was light and tasteful, the garlic edamame was nice, and above all I had the chicken upon! I think that was my favorite. The broth was so flavorful. I’ll be back for sure.

By far the BEST nigiri I’ve tasted in Colorado Springs. The fish quality, especially the salmon, is very fresh and delicious. It is so difficult to find a sushi place that gives good rice to fish ratio with their nigiri and Sushi Daiyo nailed it. The chef is an iron sushi chef and it shows in the quality and beauty of the food that is served. My only gripe is that service is slow, I believe they are short staffed.

Fantastic lunch out with my family yesterday after parent teacher conferences. JUST the way to unwind! We have several gorgeous and flavorful dishes made by the owner and staff. I HAD to capture the beautiful artwork like food before we devoured it!

Two waitress for the whole restaurant seems unfair to the two girls, everything they did was first met with a “sorry for the wait”. Not a whole lot of urgency from the sushi chefs, I’d think you would want to be pumping them out with how busy it was. It took 15 minutes once we sat down to take our drink order. Took another 40 minutes to get our sushi order. Displayed beautifully and tasted good but then we added one more roll half way through our order and that’s when it got bad. 55 minutes to get one roll and I had to go ask for it. Come to find out it was placed at the bottom of the list and they hadn’t even started on it because of togo orders. The sushi was good but not worth 55 minutes. I get it there are other customers and togo orders but it doesn’t seem right to make a customer wait that long for one order who has already been there that long. By that time I had gotten up to ask about the roll and get it to go and pay because it had been 2 hours since we placed our drink order. I don’t like leaving bad reviews and I hardly do but this really wasn’t worth that amount of time. If it’s busy I would highly suggest somewhere else because it’s going to be a good wait.

We mentioned that we brought my niece here for her birthday and the presentation was amazing. The display was fun and beautiful. The food was good, as was the service. Would visit here again to try more items on the menu. We ordered the caterpillar roll, crazy girl, spicy scallop roll, tuna nigiri, and monkey brains.
The only draw back was there was a miscommunication on an ordered item and they had us keep the wrong item and pay for it even though we didn’t care for it. (Mackerel nigiri.) I’m just not a mackerel fan in general, and my niece isn’t into the raw stuff yet. We had repeated the item we wanted a couple times when asked but the order was not repeated back to us to confirm, so the wrong item was brought. No big deal, just thought it was a little weird.

I was visiting Colorado Springs and I wanted to have some sushi.
There was a small sushi place near my daughter’s house so we decided to go there. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted and seated immediately. The waitress was delightful and the ambience was intimate and charming. The establishment had some of the most eclectic music selection I have ever heard in a very long time.
Onto the food… the sushi seem to be fresh and there was a good selection to choose from. I only wish there were more sushi selections with spicy options.

The atmosphere is calming, the food was amazing. I had the Daiyo roll and a few pieces of sushi. SO GOOD! The staff was friendly and inviting and QUICK! I highly suggest giving this resturant a try.

Such a cool place! The music was perfect for background, everyone was very friendly and our server was awesome. The food was amazing! We had the popcorn lobster and the tempura calamari for appetizers. Both were delicious and the calamari had a nice kick to it. The sushi itself was lovely. We had the spider, the crazy boy, the lion king roll.
Definitely going back soon! And right down the street as well.

I enjoyed a wonderful lunch with my daughter at Sushi Daiyo. The service was extremely courteous and the food was delicious. As of the time of this review the restaurant has only been open a few days and it’s wonderful to have yummy sushi on this side of town. They have put a lot of effort into making the interior beautiful and classy, and I will be taking my wife here on our next date night. They adorn some of the dishes with frozen sculptures which my daughter loved. I hope your experience is as pleasant as ours. Cheers all ;]
