Sushi Forest: A Flavorful Journey Awaits in Hawaiian Gardens
Reviews
We thoroughly enjoyed:
Garlic Edamame – Never had this, perfect combination of garlic, salt and the natural sweetness of edamame!
Sashimi Bravo – This sushi chef definitely knows how to “cut & slice” the fish properly! Delicious assortment of fresh fishes in perfect shape and presentation!
Fire in the Roll – This restaurant is famous for this dish and I can see why! Topped with crispy fried garlic! This roll is a MUST!
Sushi Boat – Another delicious combination of different rolls featuring innovative combinations of flavors and colors!
Forest Seafood Ramyun – As a proper last course, we shared this semi-spicy, perfectly cooked Korean-style ramen noodle soup with lots of seafood!
My friends enjoyed vanilla ice cream and green tea mochi ice cream topped with a dallop of whipped cream and they polished their bowls clean so both must be delicious! I am not a big fan of ice cream… .
Bottom line: This is a MUST try for those who enjoy good sashimi & sushi, and for those who enjoy variety of rolls that are unique in flavors and looks! Lots of fresh fishes and their service was also very prompt, friendly and courteous! I liked their modern deco with a hint of traditional Japanese favorites; the ceiling is beautifully covered with sakura (cherry) blossoms and it looked very nice with the modern lighting. They also accommodate Takeout and Delivery! The owner is Korean and that’s what makes this place special for infusing the K-Sushi flavor and style!
My plan is to return to Sushi Forest in the evening to experience the evening dining at the sushi bar so that I can compare how this sushi chef’s skills compare to the legendary and the Michelin Star sushi chefs I experienced in the past 40 years. After all, an evening at a sushi bar isn’t just about the food but also the entertainment when the sushi chefs pull out all the stops to show off their skills to their distinguished and discerning guests!
A good option for lunches or dinner with family.
Several interesting menu offerings that I don’t see at other sushi spots.
Appetizers (sashimi) Pink Lady and carpaccio trio are excellent.
Offers variety of sushi rolls, I usually end up getting rainbow Roll which has different raw fish on top of a modified California roll.
Check the board for their specials.
Happy hour , soju cocktails, beer, sake and other alcohol served.
I got bowl of udon but that is not their best dish. (maybe came from a packet).
Service is quiet and friendly.
Updated interior keeps the vibe very Nipponesque.
I am a huge sushie lover and this place did not dissapoint. ive tried some great fresh sushie and let me tell you this place has it all lots of menu options and banging flavor! The Restaurant is cute it is quite small but it has charm. The Food came out quick the chef had a smile the whole time we were there. You can tell they love what they do.
10/10 will come back.
If you’re ever in California, make sure to visit!
