Nice appearance from the street. Waitress was pleasant. Food portions good for the price. The coconut cream pie made in restaurant was nice. Coleslaw was good and not too saucy. Brisket sandwich was ok, not as brisket tasting as anticipated. Mac and cheese was more like noodles with some scraps of cheese. Broccoli cheddar soup was very thick vs creamy for a soup. Restaurant was clean, all were pleasant. Good food for the price, but not the best bbq in the area.

We pulled in looking to help support a local spot, however the food took forever which they were aware of and apologized for. When the food did come out an hour later it was dry and tasteless. The mac tasted box and the BBQ was baked. Don’t call yourself a BBQ spot if your not smoking meat.

Service was good, nice waitress. Restaurant was very clean. The brisket was shredded, dried out, and seemingly days old. Fried mushrooms – inedible. I did like the sauce, spicy and good flavor. Need a little more pride on what it’s put on.

This is a small hometown Diner and you get a fair share of food for your money. All of their food is freshly prepared and served with a smile. All the desserts are homemade as well. I would recommend them for a stop by for lunch.

The Cuban sandwich with fries and the chicken BBQ combo were delicious. If you like mayo and hard-boiled eggs, then the potato salad will likely appeal to you; I liked it – just added some salt, pepper, and a little more mayo for my taste though. Putting the cole slaw on the chicken BBQ was tasty. My husband was pleasantly surprised at how good the Cuban sandwich was. He said next time he’ll ask for more yellow peppers and pickles but other than that it was a perfect discovery! This is how good the sandwich was: often, my husband eats 1/2 of a sandwich, then puts the rest away to eat later. Well, he ate the whole Cuban sandwich in one sitting AND the fries!!!! Looking forward to going back again and trying something else!!!

Good food, good prices.
We were driving around Louisa County, looking for a place to have lunch and this jumped out at us! This a neighborhood place outside of Charlottesville so I would imagine it is not well known outside of the area. But anyone who likes BBQ in Louisa probably knows about it.

Got the 2 meat (brisket/pork) platter with 2 sides. Comes with a store bought dinner roll.
The Brisket is definitely better than the pulled pork. Neither meats are sauced so you get an up front hickory smoke punch. Both meats were pretty dry so they definitely needed the sauce. They have a mild and a hot sauce, same sauce just added cayenne im guessing. Cole slaw has no flavor whatsoever. The baked beans are a little to sweet for me.
There are a lot of other menu items to try.
I would give it another try just to check.out the chicken and or something elsen but will definitely pass on the pulled pork next go round. Definitely a mediocre bbq platter IMO.

We stopped on our way through town and found this local gem. Food is served in miss matched stoneware bowls. It feels like your eating at your grandma’s house. Food tastes like that, too. The prices are very reasonable for the food you get. We got two family packs for our family of six and had enough leftovers for another meal. Service was great. Pictures of the leftover because we were too hungry to get pics of the food.

We ordered the brisket combo (coleslaw, hush puppies and sandwich) and wings. Yummy!!! Food was delicious and portioned perfectly. Waiter was phenomenal! Owner came out to check on us and was soooo nice. There is a reason they have been open for years! Excellent!! We will for sure be going back.

Food was amazing. Staff was super friendly and answered all the questions we had. Will make the trip out from Greene county to have again. The butt fries were out of this world and my hunny is still talking about the brisket sandwich
