In 1967, we opened our doors in Abilene, TX to share fresh, authentic Mexican food. Now, almost 52 years later, while the other guys have turned to packaged and processed foods, we’ve stayed true to our roots by crafting authentic recipes in each of our kitchens. We do things the Bueno way, and you’re sure to taste the difference.

One more thing the closing time is at 10pm and by 9:10 they have the dining room close and the order online close!
Okay, my wife and I have been lifetime fans of Taco Bueno and were sad when we left the state for a few years. We were then really excited when we returned so we could choose from places like Whataburger and Taco Bueno.
Sadly, we have now experienced the “final straw” and Taco Bueno will not be missed around our home any longer. The last 3 times we have been, twice we went to Alliance, which we decided was a huge mistake as it was nasty, this time my wife said we need to give them one more chance as she was craving the MaxiDips and chips, so I drove to the Watagua store.
The people were very friendly but the food has stepped on the final straw. The tacos were oblong and distorted and we wondered how anyone would allow that taco shell to be used and they chose to use. Teaspoon measuring the amount of meat and ingredients barely filling the lower, less than half inch of the taco itself.
I’ve had better tacos at Taco Bell and that is saying something. The distribution of the ingredients is a joke as you will see in our Combo Burrito that we added sour cream to. It looks like they just rolled the burrito and squirted the sour cream in after the fact. I’ve never understood how someone couldn’t take a literal half second and spread the ingredients equally so every bite will taste as close to the same as possible.
I’ve posted pictures below and obviously you can judge for yourself. Godspeed to them, as I’ve seen a multitude of Bueno closing and this may be the reason.
