We had a wonderful dinner this evening! I had steak tacos and fries and my husband had the smash burgers. We shared a harvest salad and it was delicious! The fries were amazing. Tacos superb flavor and my husband said he loved the burger (and he’s picky.) Mezcal Methow Margarita was great. The best part was Benjamin! Good luck in your future endeavors – welcome to WA! You were our favorite. ❤️

Even though we were staying at Twisp to enjoy the valley view, we had such pleasant memories of Sun Mountain Lodge that we decided to stop for a late lunch. We waited forever in the bar and almost walked out before we were serviced. We ordered Curry Chicken Soup, and Winter Panzanella which was explained to us as salad with croutons. The soup was very good and the Winter salads looked great. I really liked how raw the beets were – instead of soft roasted, it was thinly sliced and cured. Whenever we go away, I always try to eat a lot of vegetables, so, naturally, I wished that there were more leaves. Half of the bowl was huge chunks of bread which was very dried up and not crispy – very hard to eat. Neither of us could finish our rock-hard bread crumbs. We were planning to come up again for breakfast the next day, but due to the slow service, we changed our mind because it would no doubt have taken all morning.

Great place to have a delicious lunch at Sun Mountain Lodge. The charcuterie board was amazing and so was the mac and cheese. Especially after being tired from hiking, the food was filling and we enjoyed every bite!!

We have visited the Sun Mountain Lodge multiple times over the years and have always been very impressed. I was excited to spend a week up there this last week and we wanted to have dinner at the lodge after a long drive over to the location.
We could not have been more disappointed in the food and service at the restaurant. The steak tacos were very poor in meat quality and my wife had a hard time even chewing some of the steak. The advertised beer selections were not what they had on tap and the young man who was serving us could not figure out how to get me just a simple IPA. We asked for wings, because we were very hungry, and that we wanted the barbecue flavor. Instead, we were brought a different flavor that we didn’t like even though we mentioned three separate times not to bring that flavor. The young man still messed up the order.
To be fair, the Smashburger I had was very tasty and I enjoyed it very much. Just very disappointed in the overall ambience and interaction with staff.

Terrible “steak” tacos, poorly seasoned, full of grizzle, and expensive. 24.00 for 3 street tacos with a bit of cabbage-no guacamole, no salsas, just a light sprinkle of pickled cabbage. The white wine tasted watered down and old. Biting flies inside wouldn’t leave us alone. Waiter messed up order. Not at all worth it. 10/10 would NOT recommend.

My impressions are mixed. Good servers, outstanding view but mediocre food. The burger is $23 and not worth it. For that price I don’t expect to pick pieces of gristle from my teeth. Fries with the burger were served cold. On the other hand, the Takamine whiskey was very good, although there is no skill required to pour that. There are better choices in Winthrop, notably the Copper Glance.

The fine dining next door wasn’t that impressive but the restaurant over the bar side is pretty good. I enjoyed my dinner. Cocktail is good

We ate here on Wednesday evening, 6/27. Both my husband and I ordered chicken Caesar salads. YUCK!!
They put too much dressing on the salad that wasn’t even good, and the chicken was cold and dry. The only good thing about it was the portion. You got quite a bit for the $14 you pay for a salad.
After being seated we waited 10 minutes for water. (There was only one other table there who was just about done with their meal) after getting water we ordered and then waited another 25 minutes for the salad to come out.
Definitely don’t waste your time here. The service is slow and the food is not good. At all!
Two stars for the amazing view. I wish I could rate the view seperate!

I love the Lodge, but my recent lunch at Wolf Creek Bar and Grill was so disappointing — surprisingly so. I was there on a Saturday for lunch, with a party of 10, split at two tables. I fully expect things to go a bit slower with a large group. However, it was 40 minutes before we had our salads, more than an hour before our entrees arrived. During that long period of waiting, we were not attended to, didn’t get offers of refills or second drinks except when we called the server over. When the food did arrive, it was not great. I had the boar sausage penne dish. It looked fabulous, but was bland — needed salt and a great deal more. My husband had the reuben sandwich and found it pretty unremarkable. The place is pricey and it’s attached to a lovely resort, so I expected more.

The four of us had had the burger, cheese plate, chop salad and chicken club. The food was good, view was nice. The burger was a little plain, but a solid burger nevertheless. Service was courteous and professional. Would have liked a bit more attention to drinks but also fine. Prices seemed fair all things considered.
