Service was friendly and food was pretty good and very hot (sesame chicken meal with egg roll, house lomein, wonton soup and fried bean curd dinner), so I’m giving three stars, meaning average and good, overall.
The atmosphere is what was a little unnerving.
What’s very odd about this place is when you first walk in, it appears as if they’re still operating in COVID lockdown mode. All of the tables and chairs in the dining area are pushed up against the walls. The pandemic started over 5 years ago and society has returned to (almost) normal functioning for a few years now. If you want to permanently close the dining area altogether, just Get rid of the furniture piled up against the walls. It looks bizarre having all of the old unused furniture just hanging around in a big empty open space now. And there’s No public bathroom anymore, either.
But what really was weird (SMH) was that the entire area above the counter space was a huge wall of plexiglass from countertops to ceiling. Again – as if we were still all in lockdown mode. Just strange.

Mainly takeout, so atmosphere isn’t something to be rated. This place has served my family well for many years. Love the food and service! Always great and always super fast.

Very tasty. I’m not from the area and after touring FDR I was ready for some lunch and I discovered the China Wok in the Hyde Park Mall. The restaurant was busy at the time I was there which is a good sign. I ordered the shrimp chow mein with pork fried rice. It was quite good and plentiful. The restaurant accepted my Discover Card with no problem. I love Chinese food and I’m glad I discovered the China Wok in Hyde Park, NY.

Amazing amazing amazing fried dumplings….. Half the price of other Chinese stores around and fast service, fresh ingredients and friendly staff.. def recommend… The hot and sour soup and fried dumplings for 15 bucks fed me and my father NICELY

Best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time! Sesame chicken was crispy and tender. Ribs fell off the bones, fried wontons were flavorful and the sesame shrimp was outstanding. Everything tasted fresh and made to order!! My order was ready quickly and accurately!!
