Carletti’s celebrates generations of Italian cooking from the Carletti and Ravaioli families – brought to you from Meldola, Italy. Behind the curtain sits The Kentucky Club, a nod to the building’s 1937 nightlife history – gambling, horse-racing lore, and all. Same menu, same drinks, two distinct vibes in one restored landmark.

We finally gave Carletti’s a shot after all the hype. The location has a deep history — the building was originally the Kentucky Club speakeasy from the 1930s and later housed spots like Gabriella’s and County Line BBQ before being beautifully restored into Carletti’s at the end of 2025.
Walking in, you can feel the layers of past lives in the layout — the decor is new and tasteful, but the bones of the space (bar in the back, big views from the back patio) feel very familiar to anyone who’s been there before.
We chose to sit at the bar, no reservation needed on a casual night, which was nice. The service was friendly, but we did hit a communication snag: we asked for our courses paced out (apps → salad → entrees), and everything came out at once. That took away from the flow of the meal.
Food was just… mid. Nothing stood out as great. The pasta was undercooked, which was disappointing for a place that highlights handmade pasta and Italian heritage. Portions and presentation were fine, just not great enough to justify the buzz in my view.
Overall, on a 1–5 scale, this experience lands at a 4 — good atmosphere and solid effort, but the execution (especially timing and pasta) didn’t quite live up to expectations. I’m glad we gave it a chance, but not sure we’ll be rushing back soon.

Walked in and the hostess was incredible. Walked us back to the bar while they got our table in one of the “stables” ready. Bar was very well designed with great drinks.
Our waitress was where it took a turn for the worse. She just wasn’t all that enthusiastic or interested, same with the staff who brought out the food.
I got the lasagna, it was solid and nothing to be ashamed of, but definitely not the best I’ve ever had. Price was a little steep for the portion size. I’d recommend either the carbonara or the spicy rigatoni!
The drinks were great and we got them quickly. There were several on the menu we were interested in but the seasonal blueberry mule was the tables favorite. Great suggestion.
The food was tasty and hot. The calamari was definitely overcooked though. I wish we had skipped it and tried something else. The arancini was perfect! Everyone loved their entrees. We all got a pasta dish. Next time I really want to try a pizza.
Service was good, we had a reservation and were sat immediately. We sat in the lounge. Our waitress was attentive. She just seemed kind of annoyed to be there. The bartender that brought our second round of drinks stole the show though. She was a total vibe. Sad I didn’t get her name.
I appreciated our waitress packaging my entree to go when I couldn’t finish it, but when I asked if I could take the leftover bread she said she’d bring fresh and took what was already on the table; and never came back with the fresh bread. I hate wasting food and would have been fine with taking what I’m sure just ended up in the trash. It’s not a big deal we didn’t leave with more bread. I appreciate the offer and I’m sure she got busy with more important things.
Overall, great restaurant! I feel a nice Italian place was much needed in the area and I hope it remains here for a good long while.
The server was AMAZING. I’m a foodie, and my mom is Italian, so I grew up eating homemade pastas and classic Italian dishes—and this place delivered.
Must-haves:
• Meatball appetizer
• Bolognese
• Italian crème cake
• The Palma (drink)
Order these and you absolutely cannot go wrong.
