The premises spare no effort in emphasizing C.J.’s clam shack status. The exterior displays the requisite lobster trap paraphernalia, while the …

Absolutely delicious! The fried shrimp and fish sandwich were both hot, fresh, and full of flavor. We’ll definitely be back.

Stopped in on a Thursday. Early-bird Specials were several $10.95 options. Ordered the Haddock platter which came with salad, generous portion of perfectly-cooked lightly battered haddock, 2 sides, rolls, butter, and dessert. All for $10.95! Service was excellent. Food was hot and fresh. Dining room could use some updating. We’ll gladly be back!

Worst sea food place. Pictures shown are not what you get. Portions are small. My 8 yo grandson got the adult portion of clam strips and left still hungry. I got the salmon which was almost white in color and no flavor. My son got the fried haddock which was also small portions. They have a hugh candle burning in front lobby, and throughout the restaurant, I think to disguise the musty smell. We were the only people in the restaurant. We should have left.

Great service, it’s just the food. Got clam chowder and it tasted like potato water. There was no flavor to it. The stuffed cod was incredibly fishy. The stuffed shrimp was more like slop of breading with pieces of shrimp. The fried fish was great. The onion rings were nice and crispy but were incredibly bland. The lobster was very good. Tasted great. I really want to love this place. I see great potential here. The fact that the seafood is fresh daily is amazing. I love it.

Great seafood and a good quantity for the price! It was a little dark in the dining area but eventually our eyes adjusted. The setting feels like a dock house in Maine, painted wood and seafaring ornaments displayed. I would absolutely go again if I am in need of some fresh seafood!

So delicious I can’t even begin to describe it. CJs is absolutely a hidden gem in this little town. I got Lobster Mac and cheese and the lunch clam strips. So fresh, so delicious. The lobster Mac and cheese seems to be baked with breadcrumbs on top, but it’s unlike any baked Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. It was cheesy, wet/far from dry in the best way, buttery. And of course there was huge pieces of lobster in it! I was shocked. 100% worth the price tag. The best lobster Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. And I was craving clam strips that day, they did not disappoint. It came with two sides so I went with a potato and fries. Both great! The fries were cooked great and well a potato is hard to get wrong! The clam strips have great seasoning balance. And I was shocked to taste the tartar sauce! So so good it tastes homemade. Delicious. The lady who helped us at the counter was a sweetheart. My favorite little hidden gem of a spot. I couldn’t recommend more

Went recently with my mother and cousin. The food was pretty good but the service was absolutely terrible. I got the surf and turf lobster and prime rib, my mother ordered a burger, asked for no mayo, one of the buns was slathered with mayo, we waited a half hour before we even got to order our drinks, the waitress seemed to pay more attention to everyone else (3 other tables) was not very busy but she could not seem to check in. I’m not one to write a bad review, but when confronted she stormed around the restaurant In a tempertantrum. The whole time I was there it felt like a episode of kitchen nightmares.

To be fair, I haven’t visited Cj’s in years, but it was a restaurant I used to frequent having grown up in the Palmer area, which is close by. I always enjoyed the food & atmosphere. I’m creating this review on behalf of two close elderly family members of mine who recently dined here that don’t write Google reviews. My Uncle ordered the whole belly clams & loved them, no complaints! My Mother on the other hand ordered baked stuff shrimp & was very displeased with them. They were very small from what she described, and had too much breaded tasteless topping. She would not order them again. She also commented on there being flies inside of this establishment during her lunch out with her brother. They went on a weekend & it wasn’t crowded. In fact, she said there were only two other tables being used at the time. My Mother said the service was also not the best the last few times she ate here. She told me she’s planning on giving Cj’s a break for awhile, because she was not too impressed. It’s a shame to hear it has seemingly gone downhill over the years, as it used to be a great place for singles, couples & families to enjoy.

I have never had worse service at a restaurant in my entire life. When we arrived the ONLY person on premise told us it would be 10 minutes until we were served. An hour an a half later we received water and another visit to our table. I understand hiring staff is difficult these days but honestly you shouldn’t be in business if you can’t even get water to a table in a half an hour. The waitress even served regulars who came in after us first! We ate typical new England fried food and chowder and spent 3 hours of my life in a weird hole in the wall with no music or life to it.

The atmosphere has been tricky from the beginning, however, the food is always amazing. There service was great also this time. They definitely could use another waitress and another person to clear tables and help with the cooking.
