We ordered the smoked tuna sandwich and the chicken salad sandwich, along with sides of potato soup and chips. Every single item was well prepared, fresh, and packed with flavor. The smoked tuna was perfectly seasoned and balanced, while the chicken salad was creamy, satisfying, and clearly made with care. The potato soup was comforting and rich, and the chips complemented the meal perfectly.
What stood out most was how intentional everything felt. It was literally a sermon through food. The vision of the owner came alive on my palate, and you could tell that excellence, faith, and love were poured into every detail. Sermon Sandwich Bar is more than a meal it’s an experience. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting or living in Jackson.

Guys…this place is SPECIAL! Since it was our first visit, we tried some of the basics – the BLT and the Reuben.
Both were grilled perfectly crispy. The toppings were high quality. The corned beef on the Reuben was juicy and balanced with crispy fresh sauerkraut.
The BLT was everything you want out of a BLT. Layers of crispy thin bacon. But you can tell they use a high quality bacon since the smoke flavor pops. And the pesto mayo? Perfect.
Holly got an olive and tomato salad as her side and I got the potato salad. Best potato salad! Both were so fresh.
We will be back. The crab on a bun is calling my name. But so is everything else!
This place feels intentional. Well thought out. Highly recommend.

Sandwiches come with a side – I got the potato salad, which isn’t going to be the “traditional” potato salad you may be used to – and in my opinion, it’s even better. It had fresh dill, CAPERS (yummm), and marinated red onions. I was extra pleased that it didn’t contain bacon like so many mayo-centric potato salads do, since I don’t eat pork.
The meal also came with a few slices of PERFECTLY marinated cucumber.
I can’t say enough good things about this place and I can’t wait to come back and try something new.
I think I could literally eat it everyday for the rest of my life.
The potato salad was also very good.
Neat little atmosphere. Employees were friendly. The cook came out and checked on everyone, which I think is cool. Will absolutely come back next time im around this part of town!
The thick cut bologna is ridiculously good. The spin on a French dip is bonkers-yummy, the smoked tuna is so dill-licious (sorry, had to), and the chicken torta-style is fire in more ways than one. Whatever your sandwich sitch, you’ll order right no matter what at Sermon Sandwich. Also, you must stop in and order in person because the vibes are almost like a Brooklyn bodega, but make it Jackson. Fun and fresh. Don’t sleep on this spot! Proud of you, Greg!
