We had their chicken and Cole slaw which was delicious. My husband didn’t have any complaints about our meal. Which he usually does when we eat out since he owns his own bar b que business Johnny Gees in Syracuse,NY and is a great cook!

This place has been around for quite some time. I remember eating here when I was younger. I would crave their ribs and chicken.
Now, I’m older. I like my steaks dry aged and grilled to medium rare. A long shot from the days of “everything well done”.
The good part is, the food tastes the same. The bad part is, although it’s good, it’s not “Texas” good. Everything seems to be cooked regularly, gas oven regular. There’s no “pit”. No slow cooking process. No juiciness to the meats.
I may try to go back, out of nostalgia, but the prices and lack of effort to earn “Texas” will definitely keep me in the present.

Got the 3 meat combo with rice and cole slaw but this is not Texas BBQ. Go for the ribs!! Very tender with mild sauce for the win! Tastes like island ribs all while being a traditional, juicy and full of flavor. Rice was zesty and cole slaw was tame. Almost worth 5 stars but no smiles from staff. BBQ should make anyone smile.

Pick up some BBQ on your way to Smith Bay! The sauces are really good – ask them to mix the regular and spicy. They don’t always have everything and you may need to pick up drinks at one of the nearby convenience stores.
