First time, I was impressed with the red pork tamale. The masa and pork were super tender, not dry at all! The chips are made fresh there. Service was great and friendly staff. I’d like to go back and try more.

You can’t go wrong here!
Try it!
Hospitable and generous staff, family feel, and delicious authentic Mexican food! Generous portions & great prices.
Definitely grab a Horchata (delicious rice & cinnamon drink), which is a complement to the happy spice of the homemade salsas atop their fresh fried tortilla chips! The al pastor (marinated pork) is the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had tons in Mexico, California, & Michigan! The asada (steak) is delectable as well. It’s fresh food grilled to order, never frozen & dried like the other guys.
We love everyone who works here. They work with unusual diets like mine & are very kind about it.
You won’t regret a visit!

What a pleasant surprise. This family restaurant has great food that is outshined by the outstanding service. You never know what to expect from a strip mall restaurant. This one has a fine menu and delicious food. The horchata is worth a glass. Or two. Our food porn photo is all the food we didn’t like.

El Torito Asador is an okay restaurant. When it comes to the food it’s an average experience when compared to other authentic Mexican restaurant experiences. For starters the Pepsi is flatter than the road, and chips and salsa aren’t a given, they’ve gotta be ordered. During my dine-in I had 3 tacos and double rice. The tacos were only okay, nothing to write home about. Food is served on a plastic plate with plastic silverware, or in some cases a basket. You will leave the restaurant full and not too dissatisfied. So, if you’re interested in an average experience, El Torito Asador is the stop for you.

This place has amazing steak fries! Friendly staff & they used to be located inside the mega mall at 28th St & Madison but have moved to the strip mall Grand Central Plaza off 28th St.

I had lunch here with some friends and the food was great. The menu is short, but not lacking in options, and the grill outside smelled awesome. I had the 3 taco combo with al pastor for meat, and the tacos were delicious. Their green salsa packs a bit of heat. Their drink sizes are surprising; I got a medium horchata but it was at least 24oz (if not 32oz). A large drink must be huge. This restaurant is a good option for Mexican food in the area.

Stopped in today as I saw a sign on 28th street advertising a $12.99 lunch buffet and was warmly greeted upon entering. The food was of great quality and even had BBQ chicken and ribs in addition to enchiladas, salmon, veggies, build your own tacos, fresh fruit, salad, cookies, and a few more items. The buffet currently runs Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30AM to 4:00PM, and unlike other restaurants, they do not up-charge on Saturdays, which is great. Such a good value! Will definitely be back again soon!
