There’s no indoor dining at the restaurant, and the pizza was a bit oily. I actually didn’t want the extra sauce, but the staff didn’t ask me before giving it to me. I had to eat outside, and it was cold and dark at night, so the experience wasn’t great—I could barely even see the pizza’s color while eating. However, the restaurant’s decoration was pretty good.

This place just open, im happy to see a New York style pizza on this area, was exited to try it out, so I did, it was 6pm im the only customer at the register, no line, and to my surprise it takes 35mins to just heat up 2 slices of pizza, I was gonna order wings but the lady it will take 15mins, so I cancel because im trying to get something quick, unfortunately the pizza took 30mins to heat up, worse than the 15mins cooking time if I ordered wings. Idk might be a fluke or something but not really good experience for a newly open location.

There was a little hiatus, we had a brief pause, but after a break the he pizza journey finally continues. Next stop: Mr. Moto.
I work near this location and it was originally due to open late August. It’s a small chain from San Diego making way into Orange County. We should be happy they’ve expanded.
Food: Very good pizza. As always, I like to qualify that with any new place, I establish the baseline and start with just a cheese slice. The dough is the biggest strength. Really, really good crust. Nice crisp underneath, nice and airy in the crust area, and very tasty. What a proper dough, great work there. The sauce was also nice, bright but not overpowering. Very good pizza sauce. Mr. Moto’s cheese slice was different from most in that they use both low-moisture AND fresh mozzarella, which I thought was a nice touch. Good quality cheese as well. It made for a memorably delicious slice. Due to a lunch deal, I also got a pep slice, which I’d also recommend. They use great pepperoni. Great stuff.
Service: No issues. The cashier wasn’t especially friendly or anything, but not rude either. Just a girl doing her job. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Service was fine.
Atmosphere: It’s in a little restaurant plaza near the airport and corporate work locations in Irvine, so it’s not in a “fun” area. The physical location is fairly small, but they did decent work to give it as much personality as possible. There is no inside seating, but there is plentiful seating outside for the various restaurants in this center. Parking is fine as well. The atmosphere doesn’t add anything but it’s an easy enough location to visit.
I did have the opportunity to meet and talk with the owner, and who I believe was one of his partners, pretty nice guys. Forget even being nice, what stood out to me was they seemed legitimately interested in what I thought of the food. When I gave a brief opinion after trying it, they seemed to recognize I’m not a casual pizza eater and took some stock in my words (probably easy for them, as it was mostly positive). I always enjoy the chance to speak with the owner though, and always love seeing when they seem to truly care. Overall, very delicious slices (with some combinations I look forward to trying on future visits), easy enough location to visit, decent service, reasonable pricing…and it is now probably the best NY pizza in Irvine. Check them out.

The spaghetti and meatballs are great portions and tasty. However, the pizza is extremely greasy, and the first time I came here, my pasta order took an extra 20 minutes. That’s not unexpected, right? Well, the next time I ordered ahead so they would have it ready when I arrived. They did not have it ready. They told me I’d be waiting another 15 minutes. I cannot justify the ridiculous wait.

Not good. The pasta took 15 minutes to cook and when we got home it was burnt. Like actual crispy black portions on the noodles. Spent $13 for noodles with marinara sauce and it wasn’t edible.

OC is in for a treat now that Mr Moto Pizza has expanded. Usually only got to enjoy their pizza when visiting San Diego. The pizza slice combos are perfect for lunch. Prices are good for a premium pizza.
