After several weeks in San Miguel, I had a hankering for Asian food.
I tried this place: it did not disappoint! The menu has Chinese and Thai items and I went for the Mongolian beef, which came with a complementary veggie soup . It was delicious! I will be back!

Caution: the main entrance is from Salida a Celaya street #6, just behind Romero restaurant thru a passageway.

This is a great restaurant! The food had unique flavors, and it was very tasty. I had the sweet&sour chicken, and the sauce was really good. For a drink, I had the lemongrass ice tea, which was very unique. And to end it all, the ginger infused creme brulee. The service was professional and attentive. Set in a beautiful garden setting with Chinese decor, this place is definitely worth visiting again!

Best Asian food we found in SMdA. Really enjoyed the dishes chosen. Miso soup was perfectly flavored and not too salty. Plenty of meet and fresh veggie in my beef and broccoli. Friendly service. Definitely recommended. Oh, it can be a bit tricky to find – it’s set back off the road through a tunnel and in a back courtyard. Follow the sign and the lamps and you’ll get there no problem.

New SMA residents and we’ve been to Asia Orient Express twice with the same tasty results! Excellent and friendly service. The shrimp curry was delicious and mi esposa loved her pad tai. Cerveza frió and nice vino . Highly recommend! Parking ️ is around and worth the hunt.

Having a great meal at Asia Orient Express is always a delightful experience.The food is outstanding, and there are so many choices it is hard to choose. My favourite has to be the General Tsao chicken.
The service staff are attentive and always go out of their way to ensure everything is perfect. Last night we splurged and ordered desserts, the Banana Egg Roll with ice cream was really good and the Asian Pear was the perfect ending to our meal.
I cannot close without mentioning the beautiful garden atmosphere which enhances the experience.
So glad we have this gem in San Miguel d’Allende.

Cool spot with great Asian cuisine! Everything was very flavorful with none of the heavy handed thick cornstarch sauces I dread. The egg drop soup was delicious, the Mongolian beef was tender and delicate, the Orange Chicken had a delicate batter and a wonderful citrus sauce where you can taste the orange juice. The Thai Basil chicken was savory and spicy. If you like bold flavors, great choice. They deliver also for a small fee and have takeout.

There are so many amazing dining options in San Miguel de Allende, it often makes it difficult to decide where to go. If you are looking for excellent Asian food, look no further than Asia Orient Express on the Ancha. We had eaten at their previous location in Olimpo, but their new location raises the bar.
As far as the atmosphere, the new location is spotless, light and airy. The murals on the wall are beautiful. There are options to dine either inside or outside, depending on your preference.
The service was too rate. Our server quickly took our drink order and then took our food order. He checked on us several times throughout the meal to see how everything was or if we needed refills.
The food was excellent. We ordered the cream cheese and crab wontons. They were so good we dived right in before getting pictures. I consider myself a problem solver. I ordered a second serving of the wontons and voila, we had pictures.
Stacy ordered the beef pho. She loved it. The broth was incredibly tasty, plenty of tender beef and lots of noodles. It was complimented with fresh jalapenos and basil. I tried it and it was the best pho I had ever eaten.
I ordered the sweet and sour pork. While I usually prefer spicy dishes, I had a hankering for something fried. The sweet and sour was served with an excellent egg drop soup and fried rice. The pork itself was wonderful and the sauce was very nice, it included veggies, pineapple, and I think a touch of mango.
This was an excellent meal and we can’t wait to return.

Made the mistake of going here on Chinese New Year. They only had an outrageously expensive price fixed menu. It included 2 lukewarm dumplings, shrimp noodle soup (not delivered – had to ask for it), General Tso’s shrimp and beef and an ice cream dessert. $50 usd per person not including any beverages. The food sucked, the service was worse ( everything took forever and no one checked in). Could not wait to get out of there. VERY Disappointing!
